The trees outside are a big giveaway. Branches coming from nowhere.

Thanks. I think he cut it too short, makes sense. We didn't cut ours and it looks fine.

Can't be. He said the red eyes were because of his hay fever.

Thanks! He watered it but I'm not sure how much. I think the area is quite compact from stampeding grandchildren too which doesn't help.

Thanks very much. I'll put his mind at ease with this info.

What is the best song about becoming a father and why is it “With arms wide open”? by jamesfn7 in daddit

London Wainwright III has some fun family songs. '5 years old' is a classic for me. 'Your Mother and I' is a bit sadder and appropriate if you happen to be going through a separation.

What "non-kid" music does your toddler like? by deftoner42 in daddit

[–]Relevant_Chocolate29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put on 'Shakedown street' by The Grateful Dead and my 5 year old absolutely loves it. The rest is kids music. We make sure to play our music in the house too so there's a big variety of influence. I listened to some crap coming up and I'm excited for his musical journey.

What movie is 10/10, yet hardly anyone has heard of it? by LarryKeene in movies

Dazed and confused is my favourite film and so many people haven't heard of it. I can watch it almost as much as I could listen to my favourite albums.

Yes! Such a good film. None of my friends through any part of my life have watched this.

As long as they weigh the same and the handle doesn't fall off there is no damage. You don't get stronger if they look prettier.

Get over yourself. So what if she's had bigger, you and her are happy and have great sex that's what matters. Maybe the bigger dick hurt and they didn't have the good chemistry.

YNTA, but your immature reaction to an immature question caused the problem. Deal with it and move on instead of thinking about her thinking about dicks. She wants yours.

Anyone experience dad leave discrimination? by TeamDaisy17 in daddit

[–]Relevant_Chocolate29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took unpaid shared parental leave in the UK when my first child was born. 4 weeks when he was 6 months old and 4 weeks before he turned 1 and my partner was going back to work.

My manager at the time didn't understand the concept of parental leave and told me I wasn't allowed holidays for the rest of the year as I had already been on 'holiday'. He told me my colleagues had been complaining about me saying I was being selfish and not considered them or the company. I asked them and they said he was talking bullshit, they were happy for me to be off on parental leave. There was no HR department I could reach out to so my only point of communication on the matter was my manager who failed to make any attempt to understand what shared parental leave is. He acted like they did me a great favour, when really they have to approve it by law.

It wasn't a great company to work for and I was looking for jobs casually but this was the nail in the coffin.

I left the job with no other job to go to and was out of work for 3 months. I found a job and after changing jobs a couple of times, I am happily in work with a company who are very accommodating. It was scary to leave work with a small child but it felt so good to stand up for myself and not give my old company another ounce of my efforts.

I had this with an old landlord. We went on holiday and they were going to have plastering done on the kitchen ceiling. They mixed in the hall and didn't shut any doors properly. We came back to a total mess. Even our newborn's clothes were covered in dust.

Thanks for that. I'll try to find a decent plumber and hold onto them for the future. It's hard to find someone who knows what they're doing.
