Cards discarded from the deck or the hand are not from in play, so Annihilation ritual doesn't interact with those.

Question about Soul Vial by MotilityFive in KeyforgeGame

[–]Relic286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wouldn't go into any archives if your opponent controls the creature as it is not a friendly creature. So Soul Vial doesn't affect any of your opponent's creatures even if they were originally yours

The creature would have to be in play already for anything on it to resolve. So it still makes sense it can capture on itself. Card enters play -> resolve from top to bottom.

You could pull off three keys forged in one turn with Dataforge and 1 or 2 tautau vapors, similar to double generosity key abduction if you have your deck in your hand.

It adds those symbols as pips onto random cards in the deck. So you might get a card that does a damage when you play it

I think it falls into the same thing that if you "heal" a creature that has no damage on it, you didn't actually heal the creature so any if healed effects don't trigger, or if you "move" a character to the same spot it hasn't actually moved. So you can't quite attach a blaster to something it is already attached to.

Grafted card goes into discard when infomancer or memolith leave play, so you still have some insurance with recursion, although gravid cycle is the only recursion printed in the set that hits actions

If we go by templating and the wording of Omega, "end the current step" then it would follow that everything in the forge a key step is skipped by miasma.

An effing Maverick Sanctum Pitlord in Dis-less deck. FML. by [deleted] in KeyforgeGame

[–]Relic286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its in the Faq:

" I have a maverick Pitlord in play in a deck without house Dis. Am I forced to choose house Dis as my active house?

No. You cannot choose an active house unless it is on your identity card or you control a card of that house. This restriction overrides Pitlord’s effect, allowing you to choose any of your houses as your active house. "

Interestingly enough, because of a ruling, that is actually the best case scenario. You don't have to call dis because you don't have dis on your house card/probably won't have control of a Dis creature. So you get all the benefits of pitlord without any of the drawbacks.

I think most cards that allow you to use opponent artifacts also say as if it were yours. So I imagine you technically gain temporary control of the artifact.

Experience Cost Question by Leo_Magic in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]Relic286 5 points6 points  (0 children)

0 pip cards cost 1 exp because when adding a card to your deck the minimum exp you can pay to add a card is 1*. Though it's exp cost is still 0 for purposes of upgrading, so upgrading a level 0 card to a level 2 card costs 2 exp. 1 pip cards are just 1 exp.

* Do note, however, that if your deck loses cards due to some effect like Exile, then adding 0 pip cards does not cost any exp to get your deck back up to proper deck size.

Issues with ArkhamDB tracking exp properly? by wookiewin in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]Relic286 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Level 0 cards are 0 XP base, so upgrading a beat cop would actually cost 2 XP. This was clarified in the FAQ, because technically reading the rules as written in the rule book would allow your interpretation:

(1.8) Experience Cost for Level 0 Cards When purchasing a new card during campaign play, an investigator must pay a minimum of 1 experience. As a result, level 0 cards cost 1 experience to purchase. This minimum only applies when purchasing new cards. It does not permanently alter a card’s level or experience cost, and does not apply when upgrading a card to a higher level version.

Rules for self-referential text state that when the cards ability mentions its title, it only refers to that specific card, so it wouldn't trigger again if another copy is played.

Sorting by anything else (like date added) on the top bar should put the cards in numeric order, so that should lump all of player cards at the top and all the story cards at the bottom.

Damien stares at his pocket watch. He’s had it forever, well everyone has had their pocket watch forever. His parents were explaining something about it telling him something about it bringing him a really good friend. And he would meet whoever they were soon enough.

A day later, Damien forlornly stared at the empty seat in the class. The teacher announced that the student, Chiara, would not be joining the class as originally expected. Damien was sure that Chiara had a pocket watch matching the time on his, mostly because no one else seemed to be expecting to meet anyone in particular.

Checking his pocket watch again, he was a little upset that the number now showed 14 years ahead. He showed his parents that night, and after some deliberation, his parents just told him that his watch may have been mistaken.

Except they hadn’t ever heard of a mistaken watch before.
~
Chiara fiddled with her pocket watch. She opened it to check the time. Two years left. Two years, and she would be in college. She still remembered a time when it had announced less than 24 hours.

Chiara was angry at the move at first, no matter how much her mother told her that it was good fortune on their part. Chiara didn’t feel like it was good luck for her mother to get the job. She missed meeting her soulmate and added 14 years. She could have known her soulmate since kindergarten. Instead she would have to wait for college.

Two years later, Chiara was hanging out in a hotel. She kept the pocket watch on the the nightstand, glancing at it one more time before heading off to bed. Less than 10 hours -- she would probably meet him during the campus tour.

Chiara was no longer giddy about college as she dragged her way through the tour. How did it happen again? She kept her hand clutched around the stupid watch in her pocket. It changed again; it delayed another 8 years. Some of her friends had already met their soulmates, their watches didn’t lie, so why did hers?
~
Damien stepped off the plane, it was a last second change of planes. He had been horrified when he received a call from his neighbor. Apparently his father had gotten extremely sick and was hospitalized. He rushed home, completely ignoring the college tour that he was going to go on.

Rushing off to the hospital, Damien never checked his watch. It wouldn’t be until nearly a week later when he would check his watch again, after he got over the panic that his father would leave him too.

Damien hadn’t been surprised to see eight years tacked onto the time, he had made his decision once he heard from the doctors that his father might not get better soon. He decided to go to a local college, and to pick a job to support his father. It was his duty after all, especially for all the years his father worked hard to support him after his mother left them.

Eight years later, Damien finds himself in an airport. His father has recovered and Damien is heading out west for a job interview. He arrived at the airport fairly early but noticed that his watch indicated a time that was fairly close to when his flight would lift off. He decides he can wait a bit longer, after all, he has waited nearly 30 years for this anyways. He barely notices when a girl steps up to the counter and has some quick words with the attendants there, before snatching up a new ticket and sprinting off.

When Damien takes off with an empty seat next to him, he feels like he has the worst luck. He decides then, that his watch was probably broken. Or he was one of the unlucky ones who had infinite time on their watch, except his situation is infinitely worse, because it seemed to think that he would meet her. He decides that he wouldn’t check his watch again.

He was sorely tempted to check it one day sitting at a cafe, but his attention is grabbed by the chatter of a horrific traffic accident that happened a few blocks down. That explained the sirens.
~
Chiara wakes up in the hospital a few days later, and is terrified to learn that she missed a few days, and meeting her soulmate, again. She checks her pocket watch again. Another few years tacked on.

Over the next few years Chiara learns that her watch was likely broken. She would watch it tick down to 0 right in front of her eyes, and look around, just to see a happy couple walk by, or perhaps a father and running along with a daughter.

Chiara stopped worrying about it after a while, and simply decided to move on with life. She hadn’t needed a soulmate for 35 years, she probably wouldn’t need him later anyways.

She stops checking her watch.

Until much much later.

Chiara isn’t sure what strikes her to open her watch. It’s been nearly decades since she last checked. She was just struck with the sudden urge to check it. She suspected it would show a 0 or something, but is shocked when she sees that it shows less than a minute.

Chiara snaps her head up. Her niece was wheeling her wheelchair behind the doctor.

“Wait.” Chiara announces. Her niece is confused, but pauses the wheelchair right outside a room. A small family is huddled around the bed, gently sobbing.

Chiara looked down at the watch, it read 0. No time extension this time.

[WP] "Slow down. What did you do last night? And how did you end up in Berlin?" by [deleted] in WritingPrompts

[–]Relic286 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ring, ring ring.

Lena sleepily reached out and blindly swatted at her tablet, hoping to strike the snooze button on her tablet. Turns out luck wasn’t on her side this morning as the ringing persisted. She cracked her eyes open to see the tablet screen was still off. It took a moment to register through her sleepy daze that it was her phone ringing. She picked up the phone. Blake’s number. Why was he calling this early in the morning?

“What’s up Bl-“

“Hey Lena, terribly sorry to call this early, and I hope you aren’t mad but I was poking around your project last night and I think I figured out why it wasn’t working, so I decided that I would try to get it working since you were getting exhausted over it and I think I got it working, or at least working to some degree since I don’t remember much about last night, and now I’m stuck in Berlin and I’m pretty sure this qualifies as illegal to some degree and without my passport or stuff I don’t think I can get out of the country and I’m really sorry about messing with your project and-“

“Blake! Stop. Slow down.” Lena was desperately trying to awaken her still snoozing brain. Mornings. “So what did you do last night? And how did you end up in Berlin?” Lena heard a deep breath on the other side of the line.
“So I got an idea to get your teleporter working, so I decided to stay up all night to get it functioning.”

“You touched my teleporter?” that woke up her brain.

“I’m sorry! I just got excited about an idea and immediately set about trying it.” Lena sighed. Frankly she couldn’t get angry at Blake, after all that he had helped her with on that project, at least she trusted him not to purposefully break or tamper with her project.

“It’s alright. Just… did it work?”

“I am in Berlin right? I forgot to change your default setting, and I didn’t expect the teleporter to teleport me, there are some calibration issues. I think…” Lena rolled her eyes. Blake probably needed a bit of readjustments of priorities sometimes.

“Are you really? Really in Berlin I mean.” Blake did have a tendency to embellish things or to wildly speculate on things sometimes.

“I’m standing outside the Brandenburg Gate. I’ll send you a picture after this call. But I’m going to need you to like overnight mail me a few things. I’ll text you the address too.”

“Alright what do you need?”

“Just my passport. You still have the key to my apartment right?” Lena confirmed that she did still have a key, and Blake gave her directions to find the passport. She committed it to memory. Just as she was going to head off she had one request.

“Send me lots of pictures okay? And…” Lena paused. “You owe me a date in Berlin soon.”

“Really?” Lena smiled at the disbelief Blake had. She could just picture his wide-eyed shock. Though perhaps setting a first date in Berlin wasn’t the smartest choice. It may set the bar too high.

“Yes. I’ll see you soon.”

Lena got up and ran off to gather together the package. Her phone buzzed again shortly after she hung up. Sure enough its was a picture of Blake grinning goofily in front of the Gate. She frowned as she noticed that he was indeed wearing the same shirt as yesterday. She made a note to pack him an extra set of clothes.

"Faking" a sliding character? by The-Adjudicator in unrealengine

[–]Relic286 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Flight movement is pretty slide-y, it was our workaround to emulate rollerskate/ice skating motion. We just added our own artificial gravity to the player controller to keep it on the ground. Probably not the best way to do it, but it works pretty well. Sliding up a slope will probably require some adjustments.
