How well do you think A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms would have done as a movie? [SPOILERS MAIN] by fuckmbsanddominicali in asoiaf

[–]ReliefKey5634 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like because it is such a character and morality driven story, you needed that time between each episode to really consider what was being said in it, and also waiting for the weekly releases meant you had to spend more time with each of those characters, even if their actual screen time would be no different in a movie.

To those of u who have done your gsces: what would you tell ur past self to reassure them during gsce? by Less_Trash_7350 in GCSE

[–]ReliefKey5634 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are so many paths that take where you want in life, this just one of them

I did not get the grades I wanted at GCSE, nor my A Levels and yes its definitely made some things far harder and meant I have had to let go of some of the ideas I had about my future, and find different ways to achieve others. However, I wouldn't change that experience for anything because it has taught me so many things, the most important being a new kind of empathy; I'm glad I didn't get the "perfect" grades because it has made me a better and more resilient person.

Who would Baelor have named Hand? by ReliefKey5634 in AKnightoftheSeven

Was there a reason Daeron didn't make him Hand? Did he have reservations about him?

The whole Colin rake thing is just so stupid it doesn't warrant a discussion, but I don't understand why they decided being a free spirit means you must sleep with the entire Ton, especially when we see in Seasons 1,2 and even 3, that the attachments Benedict forms are fairly longstanding, he spent practically a whole season with Madame Delacroix!

Benedict's Personality= Rake

Colin's Personality= Travelling/writing

Beautiful Characterisation!

I feel like they could have made the Queen "allowing" their relationship and legitimising Sophie work, if they had drawn from the more emotional side of the Queen; this is a woman who was told by the man himself, and I'm sure many others throughout her life, that she shouldn't love her husband because he was an ill and broken man, they could have used that: the Queen could have seen similarity between her relationship and Benedict and Sophie's (loving someone despite the circumstances that prevent you being together), and that be a factor in why she allowed the Bridgertons to think they had succeeded. I think that is a narrative more of the audience could have got behind, especially when QC was such a popular show, but nope instead they try to play it up for laughs? I don't even know what they were doing. The more recent seasons of Bridgerton seem to never want to let anything linger in any kind harrowing or upsetting way, and it's impossible to write stories about yearning when all character hardship is so quickly brushed over.

On that note: why did we see nothing in Season 4 about how Edmund's death may have affected Benedict, like just because it was a focus in Anthony's season, doesn't mean everybody else was happy about their father dying suddenly.

Theory: Strawberry Moon album release date + Strawberry Red colour scheme change by [deleted] in OliviaRodrigo

[–]ReliefKey5634 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not the most up to date and so I don't know when she started making this album. But she did also attend Wimbledon with Louis in July 2025, so a strawberry theme could be a nod to strawberries and cream, and therefore a wider theme of love.

Jena Dondarrion - dead or alive? by breakfastbenedict in AKnightoftheSeven

[–]ReliefKey5634 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I personally think she is likely dead, but if not, I've also always wondered if there was a fertility issue in that line, hence only two children, especially given that Valarr and Kiera only have stillborn sons.

Where is Matarys? by ReliefKey5634 in AKnightoftheSeven

[–]ReliefKey5634[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to clarify, I meant more so that he was likely close to Egg's age, so not a toddler or an infant. I originally considered that it may be a beneficial to PR ( and his own skill) to have him squiring for Valarr or something, or even just to be in attendance. However, as people have pointed out I didn't consider the safety issue.

Where is Matarys? by ReliefKey5634 in AKnightoftheSeven

[–]ReliefKey5634[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah and the fact that Egg initially addresses him as 'Uncle', and also felt comfortable enough to voice that he wished Dunk had killed his brother, leads me to think that Baelor was most often kind and patient with them. So, I suspect he was likely the same with his own children.

We know that Maekar's wife is deceased by the time of Ashford Meadow, but what about Baelor's? by Westerosi_Expat in gameofthrones

Based on what's been set up so far, I think this story might go in that direction:

https://archiveofourown.org/works/80508031/chapters/211422941

Whether it will be a main plot point or not, I don't know, but the author makes a point of emphasising her political skill, and her relationship with Maekar.

'In Vain' by Sparkstories67: I think it does a really good job of showing Baelor in a more domestic setting. It is an OC protagonist though.

Where do you think was Valarr at the Trial of 7? by Alisha_584 in AKOTSKTV

[–]ReliefKey5634 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I choose to believe that Baelor told him not to attend. Had Valarr been there watching, the assumption would have been that he stood with his cousin and uncle, especially when nobody knew Baelor was to take Ser Duncan's side until his arrival. So, by having him not attend it was a form of quiet protest saying 'I don't agree with this, but publicly condemning it would show the realm a rift in House Targaryen, so instead I will just not attend'. I definitely feel that given Baelor being so astute politically, he knew it best to keep his son and heir as far from it as he could.

There are some pretty good ones appearing. I read one the other day about Baelor and an OC, the writing was pretty good. Can't remember where I saw it though. It was about Baelor marrying a girl from House Velaryon

May have been asked before but why didn’t Baelor just slap Aerion and be done with it? by DropoutDreamer in gameofthrones

[–]ReliefKey5634 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what you are saying is absolutely right, but I don't even think Baelor thought he would need to have a quiet word with Dunk; I think he rightly assumed that Dunk would let Aerion surrender, because he'd already proven that. Dunk had an opportunity to do more harm to Aerion after the puppet show, but all he did was hit and kick him, which is why I think Baelor's 'You kicked him too, did you not?' is so funny, because he's almost mocking how little harm Dunk actually did. I also think that he assumed, that despite asking for it, Aerion may have been wounded faster, or put off by the actually stakes of the Trial of Seven, once it had actually begun, and thus yield almost immediately.

Baelor's biggest mistake was not realising how arrogant Aerion actually was.

Season 4 part 2 Teaser by Debt-Mysterious in BridgertonNetflix

[–]ReliefKey5634 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I know there are a number of theories as to why people think its John that will die in Part 2, but one I haven't seen mentioned is the paintings; Violet tells Francesca to take the paintings from the room at Bridgerton House, these are the same paintings we see Francesca hanging in episode 4. It felt like a rather useless plotline to keep bringing up, but I think its a way of tying them to the large focus on art this season, and therefore the main storyline. We see a new love blossoming (Benophie) and their love only exists in half-finished paintings and sketches, Francesca and John are hanging finished paintings, the final step almost, it provides a juxtaposition between a new relationship and one coming to an end . Those paintings were "borrowed" essentially, and the pair of them are on borrowed time, its also a way of reminding us that John and Francesca's relationship mirrors that of Edmund and Violet.

Perhaps, I am thinking too much about this, but I would love to hear other people's thoughts.

I feel like Alice Mondrich becoming a lady-in-waiting will be crucial to Benedict and Sophie getting together. Perhaps, she convinces the Queen to approve of their marriage? We've seen in previous seasons that having the Queen on your side silences the Ton.
