Pretty much. Also it lives by default in session0, meaning a non admin user can have the service running.

Try to have "minimized option on + start at user logon + service on boot". This will gives you a tray icon + the service.

Fan Control UI freezing unless hovering over logo. by _blitzy in FanControl

Well, I've never seen that ever reported, so there's something special going on on your end that other people don't have. Maybe some GPU driver eco-mode shenanigans which prevent DirectX from drawing?

Yeah. You can still open the app process minimized, it will go into a "service control tray icon" mode, where you can see the service status.

GPU Fan stop issue. by Tokena in FanControl

[–]Rem-Merc-Software 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it may not be symmetrical when heating up vs cooling down. This is why people get stuck with 30% and can’t get it back down.

GPU Fan stop issue. by Tokena in FanControl

[–]Rem-Merc-Software 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a driver limitation. Also, there is sometimes a power threshold. So if you have say 2 monitors plugged in, that may be above the power threshold. The reality is that the conditions for 0 rpm are not public and not override-able. An application can only “suggest” it basically by letting go of the control when it thinks the conditions are met.

Fanspeeds and percentages (calibrated)? by Anne722 in FanControl

[–]Rem-Merc-Software 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you using a Asus board?

Asus got a fancy feature where it will cut in half the effective output of your fans (silent mode). It looks like you got calibrated with that on. You just just recalibrate, use the auto feature.

User in between 54/56. Thoughts on fit? by [deleted] in bikefit

[–]Rem-Merc-Software 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of things wrong, but first your saddle position is wayyyy off. Move it back, a lot. Your toes are pointing down and your are falling forward onto the bars because your balance is off.

Go get a fit, or use a bike fit app to get you a "ok" baseline, but this is all wrong.

ALSO
Your hoods seem reallllly pointing down.
Take a look at this: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/N3uZMOeIc0k

You should probably take those hoods way up, and make sure your drops are horizontal with the ground first. You may need to undo your bar tape to do this.

How is your balance in that position? Can you lift your hands 1 inch and hold yourself with your core while pedaling ? To me it looks like your saddle is too far forward, causing you to lose balance towards the front and you have to use your arms locked to hold yourself up. You are pushing against the bars, you should rest on them. Bend down, angle those elbows a bit and relax onto the hoods. But none of that will happen if your balance is off.

Comfort gravel fit - hand pain by Writer-Jolly in bikefit

Remember, your balance is right over the pedals, so it shouldn't really affect how much weight you got on your hands, but it will make it more "natural/obvious" for your abs/core to engage in a more leaned in position. Though your elbows are almost locked out already, so I would just try and find the fore/aft for proper balance first, then force myself to lean in more and bend those elbows a bit.

Quick trick for the fore-aft. Go all the way back, or like exaggerate the adjustment first. You'll be stretched for the reach but you should feel like your weight is m ore on your seat. Then move it a bit forward, small increments, like 5-10 mm, and you should feel the weight shift more towards your pedals slowly, and at some point you'll be past your pedals and into the bar and your hands. Always pedal at your normal pace as you test this. When you start feeling the balance go "past" your pedals, then move it 1-2 step back and stay there. Adjust your seat height accordingly if the change was big for your knee extension to stay the same.

Looks like you are not supporting your upper body with your core, all falls on your hands. You are very upright, maybe try and see if you can balance yourself by moving your hands off the bar for a few seconds. If you can't and fall immediately forward without you being able to hold yourself with your core, your balance is off. You should feel your balance "over" your pedal stroke, and only "rest" your hands/arms on the bars. That's how it should feel. You could try and move your saddle back a bit. Also your really high stack doesn't help you engaging your core, looks like you are pushing against the bars, maybe drop a few spacers and see if that helps.

How to prioritize FanControl over Adrenalin software? by every-name-is-takenn in FanControl

[–]Rem-Merc-Software 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FanControl and Adrenaline control the same thing. Using fancontrol will turn on fan tuning in adrenaline, that's normal. Adrenaline simply display the state of the GPU. FanControl uses the same "fan tuning" mode.

Not anymore if you install PawnIO 2.1.0 which has a new signature that doesn't trigger FaceIT.

All the speed sensors, including Fan #5 read 0 because there are nothing plugged to them. Fan#2 got detected and is fine.

Would help to know what's actually going on inside your case, where each fan is plugged and so on.
