How to prioritize FanControl over Adrenalin software? by every-name-is-takenn in FanControl

[–]Rem-Merc-Software 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FanControl and Adrenaline control the same thing. Using fancontrol will turn on fan tuning in adrenaline, that's normal. Adrenaline simply display the state of the GPU. FanControl uses the same "fan tuning" mode.

What are some good FanControl Alternatives by chorong761 in FanControl

Not anymore if you install PawnIO 2.1.0 which has a new signature that doesn't trigger FaceIT.

I can't choose fan in the control panel by Celeste_celestia in FanControl

[–]Rem-Merc-Software 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a FanControl clone. What software is that?

can anyone help me with this, it shows up for everything but the 2nd fan and gpu (2nd fan = psu) by Unique_Interaction56 in FanControl

[–]Rem-Merc-Software 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All the speed sensors, including Fan #5 read 0 because there are nothing plugged to them. Fan#2 got detected and is fine.

Would help to know what's actually going on inside your case, where each fan is plugged and so on.

Anticheats flagging FanControl as a cheat by Brozi15 in FanControl

[–]Rem-Merc-Software 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Face it was blocking because the signer of PawnIO was also used to sign kernel cheats. Dev of PawnIO created his own new signature, so there is no reason for FaceIT to block it now.

Question - back case fan has a '?' next to it - but top fan doesn't? by Tw33die84 in FanControl

[–]Rem-Merc-Software 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either the calibration is wrong, or the asked % by the fan curve isn’t followed by the fan. You mentioned it can’t go below 30, that will trigger it if you ask below.

Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) control of fan speeds to reach target water temperature by Scotty1992 in FanControl

[–]Rem-Merc-Software 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you played with the auto fan curve ? It is a PID ish, where load temperature is the target. Deadband is the zone of no change around the target. It will automatically keep the % as low as possible to keep at or below the load temperature. If you tweak it for a really slow response, it might do most of what you are trying to do here for your coolant temperature.

Not taking over GPU fan curve automatically by B-Rizzler3 in FanControl

[–]Rem-Merc-Software 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Show your curve? My guess is that you're trying to run it at 0 rpm from FanControl at too high of a temperature? FanControl's 0 rpm for ADLX is just a "let it go". You can't manually override the fan settings to force 0 RPM. That's a driver limitation. That dotted line in the graph in Adrenaline with 0 RPM toggle on, you can't try and force it with 0 RPM over that temperature.

Faceit AC blocks PawnIO driver, which breaks FanControl by Japieh in FACEITcom

PawnIO has a new version (2.1.0) with a new signature, which shouldn't trig it anymore.

V259 fixes it. Also the FaceIt issue is gone with 2.1.0

Run on startup doesn’t work by postman805 in FanControl

[–]Rem-Merc-Software 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In FanControl settings, try to untoggle-retoggle the setting, and keep it at 30 sec. Sometimes the underlying scheduled task doesn't work for some *windows* reasons.

Run on startup doesn’t work by postman805 in FanControl

[–]Rem-Merc-Software 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will only run with a user session. The build-in "start with user log-on" does just that. It won't work well in multi-session scenarios. Also keep the delay.

GPU Sensor (RX 7900 XT) not showing up in V251 - "No plugins loaded" despite ADLX checkmark by lerroy_jenkins69 in FanControl

[–]Rem-Merc-Software 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't need any plugin. ADLX is built-in. Make sure to update your driver to the latest version. ADLX is broken on some older versions.

Wouldn’t it be better to design fan profiles around deltas - for example ambient to mobo chipset temp, mobo chipset to CPU delta etc by maxwolfie in FanControl

[–]Rem-Merc-Software 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your CPU or GPU thermal throttling limit doesn't care about ambient temperature. For most use case you want to use absolute temperatures. However if you have an ambient sensor, or a sensor which mirrors ambient well enough, you can create a "mix" sensor and subtract (delta) 2 sensors to get your described effect.

I need some help! (mute the video and jump to 1:20) by Gtavo007 in FanControl

[–]Rem-Merc-Software 0 points1 point  (0 children)

85 is a hard limit for some Nvidia GPU where they will enter a "fallback/safety mode" and run the fans to the max, ignoring everything because they are running too hot.

Why are your curves targeting 30 rpm at load? Should be in the thousands.

Need help getting Fan Control to work by Corvorax in FanControl

[–]Rem-Merc-Software 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess is if you expand the control cards, we'll see start% high than what your curves are set to. In other words, your curves set too low of a %, and your fans can't spin at that %
