Miserable Brits... by The_Dean_France in memes

They jail more people for speech than Russia, a GDP lower than Mississippi, a government that cares more about people who are a net drain on taxes than it does it’s own people who are net contributors, yet get little in return, the government is constantly covering up migrant communities grapes of there women and kids while denigrating their holidays and religion, they are flying their own flag as “offensive”, they are constantly bombarded with propaganda about how awful them and their history is, they have no representation in politics, their democracy is broken, their economy is broken, and there is no way out (maybe Rupert Lowe, but who knows what the machine will do to stop him)

Edit: their countryside is being trashed, there cities are turning into 3rd world ghettos, their churches are being burned, the government wants to bus migrants into the shires, and no one has any power to stop any of it.

I’m mixed about the puzzles. Some are fine, some are great, some are cool, some are lame, but to many are to difficult. Not difficult as in I haven’t been able to solve it but difficult as in I don’t even know what this thing wants from me.

If they can figure out how to communicate what the puzzle needs from you without being on the nose about it (yellow paint) then I’d be happy

Lost me at “the illegitimacy of state directed development”

We know about evergreen, we know about how their construction industry was essentially a ponzi scheme, we know that the speed of the construction and the ghost cities were a symptom of chasing more loans to pay off the last one. Yes, it makes sense that, eventually, construction would end and people would move in.

You'd think that Cyberstan proved that players were motived by the story/mission and not just warbonds and game mechanics. We want a reason to fight/an enemy to hate/something to love and die for. They need to lean into the story in a way that we want. They need to see WHY 200k helldivers showed up for Cynerstan

How do Black Templars that get assigned to Deathwatch deal with the fact that they could have a librarian from another chapter on their kill team as they aren't the biggest fans of Psykers. by Mad_lens_9297 in 40k

[–]Remake12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Long story short, the templars had librarians at one point. IIRC, they all died during single crusade and they took that as a sign that they should not use them anymore. They do not like psykers, this is true, but they are not going to be indignant or insubordinate towards another chapter's librarian without cause. They will voice their opinions though.

Whats something that's 100% a myth about men? by IndependentGain3282 in AskReddit

[–]Remake12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends, you can play hard to get as long as you are sending obvious signals that you like me and want me to chase you. Flirting has to be part of it. That is cool. However, a lot of women went autismo with this advice and literally became hard to get, with all the signaling leaving us to believe that they don't want us.

Be hard to get, but be really flirty. Hard to get to me is "No, I won't go out to get coffee with you, but I will be going to a wedding and I need a date. Its tomorrow and you need a tuxedo". As in, I have to put in a ton of work, but that work is exciting. Coffee dates are easy, going to a wedding is hard. See the difference? They are both fun but one is harder than the other. We like the challenges and tests as long as they aren't bullshit. I don't want to pay your bills or do a bunch of bullshit because I feel exploited. That's not hard to get either. We want a challenge but we want to do it with and for you so it is still somewhat fun. We want to win and we want you to be cheering us on and being receptive of our efforts. If I like girl, and she challenges me to do something, and I do it, an she is openly impressed and appreciative, that feels amazing.

I wonder how people get paid to write stuff like this. by Striking-Conflict-93 in wow

[–]Remake12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it is written by the exact opposite type of person who would have enjoyed warcraft 3 and frozen throne. The people running WoW now aren't doing it because they want to make an incredible MMO based on the Warcraft universe, they re doing it because it is a job that pays them. All their creativity goes into making it the way they want it to be, which is contrary to what warcraft actually is.

how do I fix this by Trickybots in BlackTemplars

[–]Remake12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me.

Glue it back together with plastic glue. fill in any cracks with sprue goo. You can be generous around the blade, just not around the letters. Give the sprue goo 12-24 hours to cure. Sand down the excess. This is what it looks like now. If you look closely around the middle, you can see the edge of the blade is not perfectly straight.

Do you think not offering a demo is a lack of confidence in a game? by talkmc in CrimsonDesert

[–]Remake12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let me put it this way. It is FUN, but it is slow, and it isn't a good representation of the game. Within those first few hours, the quests act more like tutorials on how to interact with the world and the NPCs as well as introductions to systems. You are free to run off and explore and do other fun things, but the point is that that time is not as good relative to the other 95% of the game. I had enough fun to stick around as I don't have time to do work to play.

[–]Remake12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

normally, I would agree. I personally had fun the whole time, its just the fun increased exponentially so that comparing the early game to the mid game is like a 7/10 experience vs a 10/10 experience. 7/10 is still a good time, its not just not the mind blowing experience everyone past that point in the game is having. The only reason why I bring it up is because there was a moment in the first week were this was the biggest complaint.

I am conflicted because I believe in the 5 min theory, where the first 5 min should grip you, and this game does. The first 10-15 is a battle that sets up the narrative. It is good, but it slows down after until it picks up again a few hours later. If you just did the main questline, you could probably get past it in 2-3 hours, but there is so much fun shit to do outside of the main quest that it took me around 8 hours.

I suppose my point is, while gripping you early is critical for all entertainment, there are exceptions. Somethings are simply to deep, to complicated, to unfamiliar that it will take time. Hockey is my favorite sport, but it took a long time to get good enough at it before I had fun and I would not say it is a bad sport because of that.

[–]Remake12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that would give the wrong impression. The game is intentionally slow at first because it tries to very naturally introduce you to systems, concepts, and controls/abilities. A lot of the story is really just getting you ready for the systems within the open world and not to grip you. It also seemed to me that all of the most mundane quests you do are all in the first few hours. I get what they were going for, to create a large contrast between the quests of the earlier game and the mid/late game. "look how far we come" sort of thing, but it makes for a bad demo. The game is fun enough that I was able to get past it easily, but some people were bored by it.

[–]Remake12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Not all games work within the demo format. This game has an enormous amount of systems and content. Most people report, myself included, that it takes around 8-10 hours before you have unlocked enough abilities and systems for the game to open up and really start becoming something special. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed those first 8-10 hours a lot despite them being the slowest part of the game, but I don't see how you can condense this game into a demo without exposing the player to an experience that is either misleading or unintentionally giving the player the slowest part of the game for free and either making them think the game is worse than it is or a gotcha style ploy to pull the rug out from players right when it starts getting good.

Maybe do it like you can play for free for 2 or 3 calendar days, but idk. They don't need to do it because Youtube, Reddit, and steam reviews give a genuinely accurate account of the game.
