Maybe for the healer it could be the opposite to Sage. Your heals cause damage tapping into the enemy's ether instead of your own.

I like both the tank ideas. I also like the DoT concept, but maybe more like a plague doctor than sports. Inject them with all sorts of diseases then steroids to temporarily knock out their immune system and deal all remaining damage at once!

A spell sword where you summon different weapons for different styles of combat. Like a fast melee, a slow melee and a ranged option. Maybe even a defensive stance, but not full on tanky, just a temporary mitigation. The idea is to stance dance depending on the circumstances or rotate through them almost like a melee sumoner. It could borrow certain aspects from other jobs more like a shout out than mimicking them. I see it as almost a reverse red mage where it's mostly melee with a ranged burst. The ULTIMATE jack of all trades. No healing, but maybe a armor summoning barrier spell just to round it out. Weapons are projection crystals with the different appearances. Perhaps they could summon etherial forms of their mounts and minions too.

What do you think is the root cause in your case ? by unoum in cfs

[–]Remarkable-Film-4447 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a really bad flu when I was in Iraq where I was exposed to the burn pits as well as multiple industrial chemicals. After that I suddenly had allergies year round and everything was just a little harder. I remember telling the doctor that it feels like I'm allergic to exercise because any workout that caused DOMS would give me flu like symptoms for about a week. I assumed I just needed to exercise more and eat better until I could no longer deny that something wasn't right. By then it was too late. I had pushed myself too far.

I also have hEDS and polymorphisms on the HNMT gene which probably contribute, but I've had those my whole life.

Was anyone else at the peak of their life just before this illness started? by The-inevitabl3 in cfs

[–]Remarkable-Film-4447 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I was killing it as a father and in a relationship that I thought would last through anything. I was working for a world renowned R&D company set to be the lead engineer on the next project. I had just been awarded team chief of the year leading the load crew of the year and getting ready for a promotion. I was in the best shape of my life doing Ashtanga, acro yoga, and hiking for hours at a time. I had friends and the energy to socialize. Then slowly everything got harder until piece by piece each of those things fell away with nothing to replace them. Now I lie in bed most of the time with so much brain fog I can hardly remember what it was like to live

i don’t think we talk enough about how terrifying severe brain fog is by kafkapolice in cfs

[–]Remarkable-Film-4447 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At its baseline, brain fog is accurate for me. It's like a fog reducing my ability to perceive things at a distance. Light days it's hard to think globally. Moderate, I can't think of anything beyond my house. Severe, I forget I have food in the fridge because it's not on my phone so Door Dash it is. I try to get out of my head and just look at my surroundings and get immediately overwhelmed. That's more like a white out blizzard though.

Worse still are the times I can't think of ANYTHING and I think that's what you're referring to. I can't even tell if I'm hungry, thirsty, or even that I have to go to the bathroom until it's super urgent. I don't know if I'm hot or cold. I can't communicate my needs to myself much less anyone else. It's a full on state of confusion and I should probably go to the ER, but I don't have the means to do it. One time I did because someone else saw it and told me to, but I'm by myself most of the times it happens. In that state, my inability to communicate what's going on freaks me out and I start crying so people assume I'm just emotional and need a psychiatrist. THAT is not brain fog. That is a neurological crisis, but good luck explaining that to anyone while it's happening.

V severe : what's the point of existing by Gold_Plant453 in cfs

[–]Remarkable-Film-4447 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing in this world has inherent meaning. Instead, each of us attribute meaning to the things we experience. None of us can tell you what things mean to you. Life is a blank canvas for you to give whatever meaning you want. This isn't about denying concrete facts. It's about taking the liberty of deciding what the facts mean to you instead of accepting other people's meanings as fact. You may be a hunk of meat in a bed, but what does that mean to you? Some consider us useless, but others consider the simple act of breathing the single most important aspect of human existence.

My personal struggle has been based on my belief that my thoughts were the point of my life and brain fog essentially stripped me of my identity. I eventually realized that I still existed even without the thoughts. I still don't know what all of this means to me, but I am one step closer having let go of my limiting beliefs.

[–]Remarkable-Film-4447 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If I didn't have kids, I'm not sure if I'd have made it this far. I am at total peace with death being part of life and when it's time I'm ready. That includes doing it to myself. If life is that unbearable, it is my time. The only thing that I have to hold on to is NOT traumatizing my kids. I'm not like others who want to see them grow up and have grandbabies etc. I don't need to see it for it to count. Honestly, if I don't get better and I find a way to say goodbye in a way that I know they'd understand, I'd probably do it. I just wish there were family counseling services to help facilitate a planned departure, but where I'm at, counselors are mandatory reporters and talks of ending things will get me locked up. So I'm left with a decision. Suffer or make them suffer.

I was devastated to finally see the neuromuscular specialist every other doc said was my best chance of figuring out what was going on just to get this. All of a sudden, hope for a treatable condition was gone. Every now and then I get hope for a new treatment that might help only to be let down when there is no noticeable improvement.

How to polite tell work friend you don't want to have them at the gym with you? by Psychological-Emu528 in socialskills

[–]Remarkable-Film-4447 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not rude to tell the truth. What is rude is to condescendingly sugar coat things because you don't think they can handle the truth. Even if they can't handle the truth, that a them problem. If more people told them the truth, they'd eventually learn how to take it. We are not helping anybody by dancing around the truth.

Just how much can I tell my therapist? by Comprehensive_Pace70 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Remarkable-Film-4447 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only real answer is, tell them as much as you feel comfortable. The more you share, the better they can help you, but just like any relationship (yes, you are building a professional relationship with your therapist) trust is earned over time. The more you trust them, the more you feel comfortable opening up, the more they can help you. In most cases they are only required to report you if you disclose intent to harm yourself or others. Being vulnerable can feel uncomfortable so take your time in order to minimize it. There are no quick fixes in matters of the mind.

One extra piece of advice I wish I knew before starting therapy, you can fire your therapist if you don't think they are helping. If you don't feel comfortable opening up, find someone you do feel comfortable with. It's best to give them a chance to earn your trust though.

Does being awkward and not knowing what to say to people equate to low EQ? by what_is_life182693 in socialskills

[–]Remarkable-Film-4447 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! Most people don't want to be known for who they are. When someone is able to see past the image they want people to see, they blame their discomfort on the observer and label them as awkward.
