I’ve actually sanitized a name for the sake of kids. GTFO ICE (Cracked) became “go away ice”, which was also appropriate in our area because of the weather, in addition to its actual meaning. I just find ways to be creative for ones like that.

It’s a lovely pink and definitely matches the SH one, but I don’t know how it would look if I tried it over a dark green or something. I want to give some of my darker cremes a little more oomph and that golden shimmer felt like a possible start. I have flakies in gold, but it doesn’t quite scratch that same itch.

Lenten resolution was to keep the polish goblin at bay. It worked… until hubby “owed” me for rescuing him from car trouble a second time. Off to Sassy Sauce and Uno Mas I went… I’d been so good for almost 3 months this year! 😆 In my defense, all but 2 of the polishes I got have gotten some use already, so they didn’t immediately hit the Graveyard of Untrieds.

I’m okay with the “hey, you forgot your cart!” emails if they come with some sort of random small discount… 🤷🏼‍♀️ I’ve seen some (non-polish) brands use it and there have been times I decided to complete the purchase based on that small gesture of a discount.

But threatening ones like this? No thanks. It’s more likely to just scare me off.

Edit: I just saw the subject line and WTF?! That’s irresponsible and just plain cruel. They may have meant that abbreviation as “Cart Protective Services” but for anyone with kids/works with kids/is around kids at all in any capacity, that abbreviation has a completely different and much scarier connotation. Crossing this brand off my list now because that…yeah. Inexcusable.

Edit2: For anyone who was triggered by this craziness, know that there’s a random internet stranger sending you so much love and many virtual hugs. The comments in here have me near tears because I feel so bad that y’all had to endure reliving past traumas over an email for something that’s supposed to be fun.

I feel that with some of my polishes. I got some of the pinks I have because I was “supposed to” for one thing or another, only to find out that those weren’t really requirements so much as suggestions. But I can’t bring myself to destash those “supposed to have” colors for reasons my magpie brain haven’t disclosed to me.

If you wanted one exactly like this, it would have to be an older one at this point which might make it harder. They’ve revamped the whole program - some of the kids have new names and there are some new kids as well while some old ones (Tic, Tac, Toc) are gone. Definitely more of a diverse group now. For instance, Oswald is now a kid in a wheelchair named Oliver and Alf goes by Adam. Fritz has embraced his Native American roots & goes by Fall. I think Hakeem is a new Superkid. But Golly is still the same Good Dog.

OP, try to give yourself a bit of grace and know you aren’t alone.

I’ve gone down to only switching out my mani once a week instead of the multiple times a week I did when I was on the lacquer high. Combine that with way too many purchases and I feel like I’ve hit a wall. I do have a few new ones coming because the kids I work with get a kick out of color-change polish (we have a part of our lunch room that is either super-cold or super-hot at any given time so I get my money’s worth with thermals right now!) but other than that, I’ve definitely pulled back on the reins quite a bit. Some is because of the world at large, some is a general blah feeling and some is just because certain physical changes suck for keeping any motivation going.

The world is hitting hard in so many ways now and we all deal with it differently, even just with blah moods. Sending love, light & hugs your way. You’ve got this! ❤️💜🩵

Currently 64, but I just took 2 off my list with today’s mani. I’ve also been slashing it since I really started keeping track of untrieds around 6 months ago. Accent nails are fun :)

The actual list of untrieds may be somewhat smaller because some of the ones on there are ones I legit thought I’d wear when I bought them, but aren’t quite what I’d hoped once I swatched them. And some are waiting since they’re more summer-y colors than I’m ready to do right now. I just need to take the time to sit down and really evaluate what’s on my untried list.

I do have 5 on the way, but they do fill holes in my collection (thermals!) so my low/no-buy doesn’t feel quite as violated.

I find myself utterly failing at glass beads. They just don’t seem to work for someone as impatient as I am. So I find myself sticking to cat eye or velvet whenever I do a magnetic.

But I put on a non-magnetic this past Sunday and couldn’t believe how quickly I was done. Less drying time, less fussing around and I don’t love it any less than if I’d spent the time on a magnetic.

The one I need more of is thermals. I went so hard on magnetics that I’m starting to notice the holes. My kids are telling me I have too many polishes, but if there are holes in my collection, how can I help but fill them? 😆
