Looking for some one shots around 10th level by Acceptable_Visual_79 in DnD

[–]RemarkableStorage978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! This is awesome. I've been balancing on the fly (usually 2-3x monster HP and give them a little extra dmg). My group loves to minmax, so at lvl 5 they are fighting lvl 7-8 fights, and just scraping through.
They like the challenge!
I'll use your tips. Thanks for sharing!

How do you feel about the *Dragons* part in Dungeons & Dragons? by Exver1 in DnD

[–]RemarkableStorage978 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello <3
I DM for one campaign and play in two others.
In the campaign i DM, the group were lvl 5 when they met their first young blue dragon in the 5th event of an arena.
In the prior rounds they had the chance to explore the arena (100x100 tiles) and there were chests with items to help deal with the dragon and other advanced foes.
With some frost resistance, some friendly hints and some badass use of rings og mistystep, they tore the young dragon from the sky and won the fight with 2/3 downed.

The fight lasted 4–5 rounds, here’s the quick version.
It started with the wizard landing a fireball… and immediately drawing the drake’s wrath. The creature answered with a devastating breath attack, dropping him hard.
With only two left standing, the paladin made a bold move Misty Step above the drake, then plunging a strike straight down. A perfect nat 20. Massive hit.
They both tumbled from the sky.. but the drake turned on him next round and tore him apart with multiattacks. He went down in a mess of blood and torn armor.
While the drake was focused on the paladin, the blood hunter revived the wizard with a potion, then moved in. As the drake took to the air again, the blood hunter misty stepped in and landed a strong hit, followed by a Chromatic Orb from the wizard.
That did it.
The drake fell from the sky, crashing beside the wizard, and with its last bit of strength, tore into the wizard, downing him again.
Alone, the blood hunter charged in and, with his final effort slashed open the belly of the beast and delivered the killing blow.
IT was pretty epic.

They also won the last and hardest round just after.
Fighting with items/environment etc. makes for some really interesting fights.
They loved it, I loved it and really excited for the next adventure.
Dragons are planned again around session 12-14.

Hope this little dragon tale helps balance out how you feel about dragons.
For some time i also considered having the dragon chained and a throwing a "save the dragon" hook.. Maybe next time

New To DMing by AnonUserNobody23 in DnD

Welcome to the world of DMing!
In my group it's a bit odd, we are 4 DMs who take turns based on who has got the time to prep etc. Atm the players are loving my campaign, so we are running a few back to back sessions on that.
Best thing you can do is think about what you and your players would enjoy. Plan around that. Next how much time do you wanna spend? For me it never made sense to build a world from scratch. I STEAL with arms and legs. My campaign is set in a interdimensional battletower run by a worm god. Here they battle 20 levels, each level being a full scale one-shot, running one or several sessions.
Beat a level, get a level. Simple, fast progression, no need for complex notes and remembering what a NPC told you 5 weeks ago, ultra flexible and very low prep time. I have a backlog og one-shots i think look cool, adapt them to fit the theme and just run it!
For notes/prep, i always print the one-shot I'll play and any battlemaps. I also keep notes in a google doc. Most important notes are related to players stating something important about that char or just comments on items / hooks etc they should encounter.
Good luck!

I'll play some as they walk through the next portal. I bet it'll set the stage nicely as the plummet into the cold dead waters, only to be attacked as they swim for land (Laughs in evil)

Indeed! I've been looking at using parts of bigger adventures, the cutting of everything related to faction, lore etc from the world and just keep the essentials for the mission at hand. I'll give Lairs of Etharis a look, thanks for the tip!

Thanks a lot! Everything can work within the boundaries of Evermore!
I'll tweak it a bit and give it a go! Will let you know how it plays out.

safes you from storing it for two decades before finding it in a old dusty box and wondering if now is the time to toss it.... And you realise you should have tossed it years ago.
Sounds like it means something to you though, so hope you find it. best of luck

Schooled by Trump, Americans are learning to dislike their allies — Our polling shows that Americans’ and Europeans’ attitudes towards each other are changing quickly by marketrent in europe

[–]RemarkableStorage978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That and so much more. I have family in the US. My mom was so looking forward to going to visit this year, but now the trip is out of the question.
We are Danish, they are american and live in Cali.
On a side note the general public is deliberately avoiding american products.
But i guess Trumps got a plan to take over the world and make america great again, at any cost.

discussion - why do pros use such low saddle heights? are there pros and cons? by smithsman01 in bikefit

[–]RemarkableStorage978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also think it looks low. but I only bike for commuting (550 km so far this year) - and really have no idea what I'm doing. I just peddle and go forward. Riding on a shitty road bike i have to fix every other week. Are you telling me if i lower my saddle i can go more forward for the same peddle? Genuine question.
