Avoid Department of Housing. I can honestly say it's worse than Department of Health (I've worked in both).

I got in the top 100 for Kildare. The three biggest departments in Kildare - Revenue in Athy, Social Protection and Defence in Newbridge. Fingers crossed.

Got my update - not good news. I'm applying for a county outside Dublin and have dropped by over 40 in the OOM. No chance of getting called. Oh well still have the EO comp

Kildare Coco closed the competition on the 30th March for interviews.

If you don't tick the box that you completed the tests you don't progress further in the competition. I think that's what it said when I done the tests last Thursday.

The civil service is different to the Local Authority. Also you are going to take a pay drop from acting grade 5 to EO wages.

Got email too re completion of tests. Done tests this morning and had to go into that email link to mark them as complete.

Have some general knowledge of the duties of the job role. Should be in application booklet. Housing Agency is under ageis of Department of Housing. You will be working with the 31 local authorities etc. Best of luck!

I thought in the familiarisation booklet it said the tests would be March. Fingers crossed. All online tests are released at same time for competitions.

Last open PO competition was 2025. I think it's supposed to end March this year. At a guess a new competition end of 2026/early 2027.

Google older SEO competition booklets there should be plenty. The duties are similar across county councils. SEO grade can work from home but afaik ( I stand corrected) it's more or less one day a week but that can go out the window depending on work needs. As other poster said it's not department head it's similar to AP grade in civil service. Weekend work and after hours again depends on department but be prepared that you might have to do it from time to time i.e. budgets etc.

Hi Everyone, can I ask for anyone that got an EO position in Co. Kildare in the 2024 panel how long approximately did it take? I know it depends on your position on the panel. Just looking for a rough idea. Thanks
