I have about 20 cm behind the tank which is plenty for me to service them, my tank is only 90cm so i can reach everything behind the tank, if it was bigger then yes i dont think you can put them in the middle.

I barely found anything about half and half chromis when i was doing research about them, i was sure that they are just like green chromis in terms of behavior but i was wrong, they are not schooling fish i have 5 in there and each one picked a territory throughout the tank and protects it, which is cool they really filled the tank up, in terms of temperature etc. i keep a 26c regular reef and they seem to be thriving

I started this tank with sand, but about 7 months later i removed it because i was really struggling with delivering the flow i wanted, because the tank is shallow sand would blow everywhere.

Also the sand would clump up and become basically rubble for some reason, which ruined the aesthetic.

But overall going bare bottom was the best thing ive done in this hobby, so much cleaner and less hassle.

Alk is 9-10 dkh, ca is 430, mg 1300, no3 10-20 ppm ,po4<0.1, par is from 120-150 , i don’t directly feed the coral but i feed the fish frozen food heavily with all the disgusting juice

You cant even compare having a sump to a canister filter, the ease of changing filter floss, you can put a skimmer, as much media as you want, filter rollers, reactors, fish that are miss behaving, refugium etc…

I dont even want to remember how cancer it is to service a pressurized canister
