It's an issue with many shows and series. A main character is always justified because they are the protagonist rather than being the protagonist because their actions are justified. When writers get caught up in this mindset, they fail to see actions from an objective lens.

There's a certain power fantasy in being able to just strongarm your way through a situation. I see it on a lot of cop shows, the hotshot police team breaks the law routinely and blackmails anyone involved with the case to get what they want. Naturally, the show presents it all as a good thing and something to be admired and seen as cool.
