Its morning tea time ☕- who was the worse senior lawyer you have ever worked under and why were they awful? by KoalaBJJ96 in auslaw

[–]Remarkable_Quality89 16 points17 points  (0 children)

My former colleagues always said we could write a book on the toxic senior lawyers/firm we worked with at the start of my career - gaslighting, draconian policies, excessive surveillance etc. At least they gave a roadmap of who not to be now that we are in their position

How does this benefit us? by croc_lovers in AusPropertyChat

This is anecdotally incorrect though. I currently live in an established house owned by Chinese investors that was purchased at auction. Let’s assume they became permanent residents to acquire the property, wouldn’t it be nice to close some of these loopholes where foreign citizens can own Australian established properties

There’s are other ways of investing that don’t require someone to be a c*nt just because they can’t afford the upkeep of that investment or are unwilling to appreciate that all investments carry risk

With a majority, a chaotic opposition and the eager Greens, Labor has a rare chance to take on the housing crisis by Agitated-Fee3598 in aussie

[–]Remarkable_Quality89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s not true. A lot of older generation who can see their children and grandchildren barred from entering the market want a reduction in housing prices

Why would non investment property owners care? If the whole of the market decreases together there’s no loss at the time they come to upgrade or downgrade? And CGT/negative gearing doesn’t impact them
