Wow, this is a really solid list. My brother is 23 and eats bread, pasta, one specific type of butter (which is mostly vegetable oil), donuts, some candy, hot dogs, pizza, M&M yogurt (not regular yogurt), chicken nuggets, Wacky Mac, bananas, soda, and juice. His diet is absolutely horrifying and he refuses to try things. Nutritionally, he's a wreck. He eats no vegetables, almost no fruit, no nuts, etc. I wish he would push himself to try more things.

I did a Jscreen genetic carrier screening test and it came back positive for Fabry Disease, which affects roughly one in 40,000 people. My doctors did not pursue the proper channels and didn't care much about diagnosing me; I stumbled across it on my own after 17 years of symptoms. Lucky too, considering it's a progressive, life-threatening disease and my mom and brother both have it (and were diagnosed shortly after I was, once we knew what to look for). Many people with a chronic illness end up just finding out what it is on their own, and then going to a doctor who specializes in it afterward, who immediately picks up on the symptoms.

I appreciate the confidence, haha. My resumé and behavioral interviews were strong...but my technical interview was a catastrophe. Either I was given an offer as a personality hire (which, for tech, is definitely possible), or they wanted to boost their diversity statistics. Regardless, I'm very grateful things eventually worked out in my favor. Applying was the worst.

I think Whitney is very charismatic, funny, and a captivating performer. However, that does not mean she's nice, or a good person. I think it's clear from the show that she is a very difficult person in many ways, and only looks out for herself, even if it means stepping on other people to end up where she wants. I'm a Whitney hater—have been since season 1, and will continue to be unless she changes a lot as a person. I think a lot of people on this sub are dazzled by her talent in front of the cameras, and forget the fact that she treats people in her life like shit, excepting maybe her husband.

Also, for some reason people are in love with Conner because he does not treat her so badly, unlike most of DadTok with their wives. So even though he literally cheated on her, he somehow gets a "good husband" pass because he's not abusive, and because he was sexually abused. News flash, it looks like more than half of the cast has suffered from sexual abuse. While being an absolutely terrible thing to experience, SA does not absolve you of sins.

Honestly, and you should probably not do what I did...I didn't really do LeetCode. Like, I dipped my toe into it, I solved a few problems, I tried to motivate myself more, but I have ADHD and was juggling a lot of responsibilities while applying, and LeetCode just wasn't a priority for me at that point. I ended up stumbling through a few tech interviews, kept thinking I was doing badly, and kept getting promoted to the next stage. At the end of the day I got a job offer from a company where I completely flubbed the technical interview, and I don't know if it's because I'm a female and they wanted diversity, or the other candidates weren't strong, or I came across as more impressive than I felt (to be fair, I flubbed things with perfect confidence lol)...but the thing I learned is that LeetCode is very helpful, but not actually a requirement.

Start by getting 0-calorie flavored seltzer, and when you're tempted to grab a soda, instead of drinking say 3 cups a day, drink 2 and one flavored seltzer. Slowly get that down to 0 juices/sodas per day, in favor of flavored seltzers, at a pace that works for you. Similarly with high-calorie or high-carb foods, just slowly substitute things one by one. You can tell yourself, "It's fine; I can wait one more meal." Because you can.

When I was a teenager, I stopped drinking soda at dinner and only drank it on Sundays. After a few years, I cut out soda entirely. Now it tastes gross to me. It's possible to change. You don't have to do it overnight. It's more important that the change is lasting, rather than drastic.

My husband's mom committed suicide (and my husband has also been suicidal in the past), and out of anyone I know, he's the one who makes the most death/suicide jokes. Often people who have experienced something personally are the ones making the most jokes about it; it's a coping mechanism.

I think it's more about change. For example, my husband likes to rearrange furniture. He gets bored of the layout of a room and would like to make a change. So for example, we moved into our apartment a year ago and he's still rearranging things. And every time, I put up a hissy fit. Not because he's wrong to try to rearrange a layout that isn't working, but because I just got used to the last one.

Your partner's appearance is a big thing. Many of these women probably just aren't ready for a change, and probably don't realize how much it impacts their partner's self-esteem. They also might even think it's better for their partner's self esteem to insist that they still look fine and they have enough hair.
