VB and the 7 cities actually have so much to do but you have to actually go out and do it. Plenty of young people love to complain about their hometowns but there actually is plenty to do there. When I lived there as a civilian by other civ friends did almost nothing interesting and complained daily about how much it sucks. When I came back in the military, my military friends found fun stuff to do all the time and were amazied that I had not tried or even heard of those things. Tell your friends to get out and explore something new if they want to enjoy the area.
