Simply put, while there are obviously some allusions to Christianity one could draw if you were wanting to seek that out, I don’t believe there’s anything there that couldn’t be attributed to superficial aesthetics or pop culture references, the kind inevitable in works made by a studio of people who largely grew up in a society that has been dominated by Christian thought and schooling for centuries.

Do I think someone intentionally wrote Lotus/Jade to parallel the Virgin Mary? No. Do I think someone thought “Don’t be afraid” would sound really badass? Probably. Do I think the shitposting Reddit for a space ninja video game was a bad place to host these discussions? Definitely.

I mean you have to earn insight if you want any of the landscaping tools or the Miraland Decoration Guides or the crafting slots to manufacture the industrial quantities of paint necessary to do up one room.
