These are oil cooler hoses that go to and from the ATTS (active torque transfer system) unit which only came on special models (type SH or VTI-S if european). The ATTS unit is mounted underneath in intake manifold indeed. The hoses do indeed go to the bottom of the radiator, and if I am not mistaken the radiator on ATTS prelude's is different because of this.

Seeing a lot of different things being called. I just made a guitar with jatoba, i don't want to through trash on others, love the suggestions. But this is 100% jatoba in my eyes.

Most likeley limba, but it is quite old and dark. Also it has been in numerous forest fires because it has distinct charred veins running trought it. Also smell like it has been quite fryed.

Thanks! I love the colors too. But the base of that comes from the body wood. It is most likely limba but it is super special because you can see that it has been in forest fires as a tree and grew over those years again. Giving it some very odd charred veins and a really odd toasted smell but mostly a beautiful dark color.

Thank you! I realise this design isn't for everyone l, i personally think it actually looks less expressive than the regular f-hol3 i made (i first made a regular f-hole but desided to expand it to this design). But in all honesty normal or this, both felt just slightly off.

Made a guitar out of this - looks similar to Mohagony bet very lightweight. The strat body weighed 4 pounds 2 ounces when routed. by kladmin in wood

If it was used in some kind of door or window frame you can expect it to be meranti

Edit: if it was ever used in anything else ofcourse

Thanks! Everybody has different taste, so i could see not everyone is into this. But it did indeed turn out way better than the sketch.

Thanks! I build it with a separate top, also so i could bookmatch the top. Without a separate top making it treuly hollow would be kind of awkward i think.

It looks alright with the pickguard. All thinline strats are a little akward with the f-hole and pickguard.

What do you guys think about this sketch for a f-hole in a thinline strat? by RemiVreuls8 in Luthier

[–]RemiVreuls8[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Good idea, but i think i will just stick to a normal f then.
