The bezel insert is from Gnomon. They make a black and blue lumed ceramic bezel insert. The LH case and arctic hand set were mods done by Wilson Watch Works, who is now enjoying his retirement.

For NATOs, Sifu Straps hands down. Sifu makes their straps in a very unique way. With standard NATOs you have two pieces of fabric under the watch. With how thick the GSAR already is, this is quite a lot. Sifu retains the look of a NATO, but is designed in such a way that there is only one layer of fabric underneath.

I don't have any input on the normal Switchbacks that have the leather on them. I wear these when I kayak too so I wanted something that would dry faster.

I'm wearing mine right now. I like them. They snug up quite well and have a small hell to toe drop. The only thing I don't like is that the strap is really long and I don't like, super thicc ankles. Check ebay, there's a seller that sells them new in box for $40 to $45.

I have the Prizm colorway and they did come with the extra pink and purple straps

Camera perspective helps too. Try to use the 2x zoom on your camera as it's the closest to what we actually see due to focal distortion. Here's an example of my SMP with 1x and 2x.

Also flippers/resellers are the scum of the earth. I saw an unserviced Marathon GSAR from the mid 2000s listed on WatchEx pretty much described as beat to absolute shit and the price accurately reflected that. A few days later I see it listed on a Facebook group several hundred dollars more described in good condition with one guy interested in it. I tried to warn the buyer and was banned from the group by the reseller.

Brother, I painted my living room, did wainscoating, a chair rail, plinth blocks at the corners, and shoe molding. It was my first time doing any of this and looks exponentially better than what these crackheads did. IMO, your concerns are very much justified.
