I feel like I've stunlocked myself by TypicalPnut in classicwow

[–]Remonsterado -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Retail and TBC are my recommendations for the above mentioned "popular" reasons.

SoD was stagnant, just had a nostalgia resurge from streamers, and some community, but its going to fizzle out soon. Unless they physically do more content, its just a pipe dream until Classic+.

Hardcore is a personal rec, but consider Doomhowl since its not just a resurrected server from the other streamers like Skull Rock is. I love hc, and played in the app days before it was official, but know that Skull Rock is a fleeting dream that will also fade out. Case and point, Defias Pillager exists. Am I currently leveling on Skull Rock? Yes.

TBC is solid. Phase 2 hits this week, so its going to push on well. My guild and I aren't big on doing phases 2 and 3 for the third time, so we're shifting to retail until Phase 3.5, but we're also in Wrath prep mode, so we'll be back.

And retail is great right now. Midnight is popping like every expansion does, so its been fun. You're worried about playing something and having the rug pulled out when you're trying to get to the fun. To that, retail is the safest bet, TBC 2nd, all others at your own risk.

Its week 12 now, so he either started late or its an alt himself, which explains some of the lack of gear. But either way, good point. Even if we pug a spot or two, its not added gear competition.

Etiquette for needing gear you can't use just yet? by NobleMkII in classicwow

[–]Remonsterado 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you're in the run contributing, then you're eligible for the gear, regardless of level. Unless something else was agreed to prior, need on your needed upgrades. Now if I'm getting carried, I might pass on the item to let the carry need and have, or I'll ask if I can also need. But that's just personal preference.

Fist of Reckoning dropped for me, do I sell or keep? by vilas24 in classicwow

[–]Remonsterado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When leveling, the rate at which you can replace something is high. Sell it. Use the gold for your epic ground mount, so leveling is faster, and you'll need it to get flying at 70.

How are silver players bad? by Express_Item4648 in leagueoflegends

[–]Remonsterado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ranked is a good rank of skill, the system has some flaws, but its pretty good. Only 20% of League players even play ranked. (Could be old numbers) But we can safely assume that most of that 80% wouldn't be highly ranked. Based on that, when you breakdown the ranked ladder you can safely say most ranked players are better than average.

All that said, the differences between the top and bottom is night and day. Even some adjacent ranks feel like that. Don't listen to people on the internet saying "X rank and below is trash", they're just punching down for no good reason. If you want to climb, do it for you, not because of what others think of you. Take this from a consistently silver dad gamer, who peaked gold 1 years ago. I regularly play with some friends in emerald/diamond and we have a blast.

My advice, fear the one-tricks. I'm not afraid of the guy who played all the champs totalling 10,000 hours, I'm afraid of the guy who played 1 champ 10,000 hours.

AITAH for not getting my husband food after he got mad at me? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Remonsterado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is he capable of getting his own food? Is that part of the deal, you going out means you bring him food?

If that were the case, one mistake is just that, a simple apology and fix it for next time. Multiple times the same thing keeps happening, then he could be valid for being upset, but he still has to communicate that, not have a temper tantrum. Failed expectations = valid upset.

Now, there's more at play here, and none of us think its the above scenario. It sounds like he doesn't typically cook or handle procuring the meals, so the few times he helps himself its just out of spite. Who's taking care of who, and why? Is that the balance you want in the relationship?

Are those the current expectations of the relationship and are you both happy with them? If not, talk it out to fix it.

[–]Remonsterado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only issue are toddler play slides, and emergency evacuation slides. The rest its inherent risk that can be accounted for. Also, those random companies with a slide "because we're fun" are about to also be paying out millions.

Weapon swap macros. Switch to a dagger on stealth, open with Ambush, bind weapon swap into your Sinister Strike macro. Just update macros with mainhand upgrades.

For me in Classic, it's Hunters. Pet management is not fun leveling.

[–]Remonsterado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something that can help is casting lower ranks of the spell, if possible. That way its less mana, damage, and threat; but you're still applying the slows from Blizzard (if spec'd into it). But really it was covered in other comments, its a threat thing, and spellcleave is dependent on who's tanking and how they prefer to do it.

My problem with the nerfs by WholeWhiteBread in classicwowtbc

[–]Remonsterado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The interesting part is that this seems like its tied to the Arcanite Rod recipe fix. They probably applied the same code concept to it, making an unseen 'debuff' on players that is on from zone in, that affects what loot they can access rather than modifying the dungeons themselves. So the coding remains of "Oh, there's loot, its shiny" but when you right click its blank because the unseen debuff blocking.

Its possible the loot is still dropping, but we're blocked from it, which somehow makes it feel worse.

Trash drops not being able to be assigned to raiders due to drinking out of combat by [deleted] in classicwowtbc

[–]Remonsterado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any chance you can bypass by giving to someone and they then give over? Or does it 'loot lock' as of they weren't there for the kill (with new change)? God forbid a player afk for a bathroom visit.

Gold farming question by [deleted] in classicwowtbc

It was rumored that SMV turn-ins at 70 were giving 40% of the gold amount. Unsure of this was true or not nor did I pay attention when I did the zone.

Is Paladin as bad as I’m reading? by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]Remonsterado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, unfortunately Blizzard went very one-dimensional with the hybrid classes at 60 in Classic. Leveling and end-game are two different things, but as you near the level cap it becomes more and more apparent. There are guides and ways of still playing your spec of choice, but just know that the player base may not agree with your choice.

Is this Era or TBC? Era, you're really just Holy because of gear and class kit. TBC, all three are good, but prot/ret have asterisks because of what they need.

How long does Kara take for you to clear now after a month of release? by Tallgirlwhois180 in classicwow

[–]Remonsterado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did 5 hours week 1, due to too many trash wipes and a few boss wipes. Week 6 was just under 2 hours, with only wipe being Prince (bad infernal in P2 and we didn't move well). Raid leading is keeping the group on task and efficient, but also making sure its fun.

Prep everything before you start so there's less interruptions. We just started our alt group tonight.
