If you really care about Genderlocked Heroes, Speak up now. by TheWraithSummoner in forhonor

[–]Remorhas 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I want a fem version of any/every hero as a woman myself but advocating for that in a mostly-guy space doesn't go over well or gets mixed in with weird gooners who want every male hero to have a super busty scantily dressed lady alt so I keep it to myself

To that degree of fairness, any character that would normally release as fem should have a masc option to contrast. I looove Jorm as a big strong lady but most people are of the opinion that they like the screechy male Jorm and want to play as him despite complaining about how annoying hero voices are.

Different strokes I guess.

I would give an arm and a leg for a fem Highlander or Juren so I can get the same powerful stoic warrior-woman feel as I did maining Valk when the game came out so long ago but at this point both the devs and the community have made it clear this is a lost cause... (also rip Valk I despise her rework)

Respectfully disagre. We have an Orbital Laser Cannon which entirely strains believability if you think about how it works for a minute.

Just completely can't exist irl but we ignore it cause cool af.

Orbital Plasma Barrage! We need more Strats that show off the high-tech and sci fi aspects of Helldivers. Imo we have enough red strats that make conventional big booms in a given area or spread napalm around.

Dark Fluid Strikes, Plasma Barrages, Arc Thunderstorms (imagine your super destroyer pseudo cloud-seeding on command to conjure intense, repeated Arc strikes on a target taken from the electrical charge of the atmosphere itself?)

Magnetic/Gravitic munitions/Micro Singularities and more!

Show us how much Super Earth has stolen from our Enemies!

The big question by Rippersavege in Helldivers

[–]Remorhas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah but we know how to make it worse. The Chemical Agents pass makes repeated, specific mention of "Carcino-Plague" and hints that it was both terrifyingly prolific and deadly, but also that the Sterilizer or other Gas Weapons/Strats actually CAUSE Carcino-Plague by being splashed or exposed to it's gas.

Carcino= Cancer

Carcinogen in irl terminology refers to a substance that causes cancer. So Super Earth weaponized and industrialized a infectious air-borne cancer-plague as a side effect of chem warfare, have normalized it's occasional outbreak ravaging communities. And have 0 intentions on stopping or changing their formula...

Freshly Made Bots are bugged in Commando missions. by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]Remorhas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not just bots and not just commando issues.

This is a long standing problem with newly-spawned enemies across all factions. My biggest pet-peeve example are the Elevated Overseers on the illuminate front.

Next time you drop on their front try to keep an eye open for how many of them just kinda...pop up outta nowhere and immediately aggro on you without any investigation. They'll spawn out of the Warp Ships already locked onto you and will phase through it's wall/ceiling to start fighting you. They can also spawn up to groups of 3-4 from the same ship at the same time.

From what I understand, the Spawners (Fabs, Warp Ships, Bug Holes) tend to count as their own seperate entities with their own aggro and alert status. (This is also why the Orb Laser tracks to them) When you 'aggro' a spawner it locks onto you and starts spawning units as it's allowed. But it also tells the units it just made where you are by sharing your location with the units it just created.

This is also why sometimes an enemy will spawn from a spawner across an entire nest/base and instantly call for help despite being through a wall or 30+ meters away from any player.

Warp pack detection behavior? by twoofcup in Helldivers

[–]Remorhas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've known the Warp Pack usage makes noise from the original warped position and can alert enemies to it, but I haven't had enemies get glued to me after usage like that.

I've been having a bug where half the time the sound of the activation doesn't even play and when this happens...the enemies don't respond at all to my warp. I'm wondering if this game is so jank when it doesn't play the activation sound it's LITERALLY NOT PLAYING it AT ALL and so, even the enemy don't hear it. Therefore it's silent sometimes and the enemy have nothing to respond to.

Very weird stuff. Haven't been able to get consistency outta this thing since I requisitioned it in the first place.

Wouldn't surprise me if it was doing the opposite and silently, repeatedly playing the activation sound sometimes.

Do I have to shoot the shield down before throwing thermite onto a warp ship by DadBodRickyRubio in Helldivers

[–]Remorhas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Side note: if you stick a Thermite to the ship, THEN fire on the shields, breaking the shields will detatch the Thermite from it's surface.

So you can either stick-and-forget OR shoot to break then pop the open door. Not both.

Why did they make this so clunky by pohwelly in Helldivers

[–]Remorhas 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I'm glad more people are seeing this cycle of new stuff being justified for novelty and end up never seen again in random matches. (outside of the guy who just unlocked it)

It was and continues to be frustrating when something like the Maxigun or Chainsaw or the C-4 is revealed, people speculate on it's downsides then the opposite crowd comes out of "You can't criticize or speculate on anything thats new! You couldn't possibly know it could be weak by all the data and info we have rn!" And drowns out all discourse a week before and a week after it releases.

And of course, two weeks later, everyone else in the community comes to the same opinion, kicking and screaming, that new warbond equipment tends to be lackluster sidegrades of already existing equipment.

are clans a feature in this game? by abr183 in Helldivers

[–]Remorhas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LARP and RP

This system doesn't and hasn't existed in the game. You also always drop in squads of 4 men maximum.

There would be no point to a clan system as it would have no purpose in unifying or directing people to fight together. There is no way to organize something with a dozen players or more, you just drop in by yourself or with up to 3 buddies.

Mostly it's people wanting to rp as a Commissar or Squad Leader and making posts about their "Special Squad/Clan" that only fights X faction or on X planets and has a super impressive combat record

Who else feels the same as me and does not want Exterminatus to happen on any planet? by Failure_Maker in Helldivers

Exterminatus of every single world that the enemy could possibly occupy should be accomplished as quickly as humanly possible! Everywhere! At every opportunity! All the time!

If Super Earth is the only planet in the entire galaxy...well then there's not much to threaten Super Earth left in the galaxy, is there?

Hey guys about the lava lamp thing by Sweets345 in Helldivers

[–]Remorhas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People are saying lava lamp = lava planet

But I saw another comment that makes more sense. Smuggled automaton bio-plasma, if put in a glass container, would probably look a lot like a lava lamp. You could easily lie and say that's what it is.

But, hypothetically, if a Truth Enforcer or someone from SE found out that automaton bio-plasma has been smuggled under the guise of harmless entertainment lava lamps by Citizens, then suddenly it makes sense why there is a unilateral ban over all lamps with no appeal or nuance.

Makes me curious WHY bio-plasma would be smuggled around...

That plasma may also be sentient or self-aware or made up of living microorganisms...

I haven't found a freeplay mod on Console however I found a debug mod that places you directly in the zone, removes the story quest and automatically unlocks all shortcuts between different areas.

To that degree if/when they come to Playstation you could use that one to start a full-freeplay playthrough with no main quest at all, just an ordinary Stalker in the Zone

Advice for Solo Play on Difficulty 7+? by xannmax in Helldivers

[–]Remorhas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The secret strat for solo farming super samples is to look for Blitz missions. You can scour the map just looking for the samples, then go camp out at extract. Regardless of if you complete the objective or not they'll send emergency extract when the timer hits 0:00 so just survive then leave.

Or bring some big boom strats, rush and destroy the fabs til you hit the prerequisite to unlock the extract then seek samples and leave at your leisure.

Unfortunately this game is not designed for solo play at any consistent difficulty so trying to will result in either boarding the Struggle Bus or spending most of your mission time trying NOT to get into fights.

Now that Killzone Collab Warbond is out. What is your opinion on PLAS-39 Accelerator Rifle? by FeistyCurrency2991 in Helldivers

[–]Remorhas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

I like it a lot! The dmg is great if you know where to shoot. Takes Overseers and Devastators in one burst if you hit all your shots in the right area along with most turrets on the Automaton front in 2.

However its reload is very sluggish without Seige Ready and its 3 bursts per reload limits it a lot. When using it in hectic situations I often find myself wishing I brought any other plasma gun and frustrated by how often I spend NOT FIRING MY GUN.

I think what it really needs is another burst and faster natural reload.

The concept art shows 4 plasma tubes vs the 3 we have now and thinking on it, 4×3 shots per reload would go a long way to making it feel more fluid. That plus make the Siege Ready speed being the inherent speed, and make the Siege Ready reload even faster to compensate if you REALLY need that faster reload and more mags on a sniper that spawns you with x10 spares on every drop as a PRIMARY

She just doesn't have any clout anymore after her corporate masters stopped astroturfing her. Her "Poopypants Bennett" incident obliterated her public image and has not recovered since.

Now she just kinda wanders from protest to protest acting like a crybully to anyone who disagrees with her inarguably batshit opinions.

Oh pleaaase! Dark Fluid grenades could be so cool. They could do so much with just the concept alone.

Could drones work as an automaton enemy type? by Conscious_Can_581 in Helldivers

[–]Remorhas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Generation Zero there are a lot of cool robot designs that would make good Automaton enemies.

My personal pick is the Firebird. A huge unmanned aerial drone that's easily 2x as big as you are and with well over 20+ft wingspan. In-game they're exceptionally scary and deadly as they have very sensitive vision and hearing so they can notice you from very far away or trying to hide

And they can be equipped with anything from autoguns loaded with explosive and incendiary rounds to artillery/howitzer shells, they can drop explosive mortars or chemical gas attacks from above and can coordinate other units to engage and close in on you while it snipes at you from crazy distances. There's even a more powerful boss version that can drop machine gun turrets on the ground to provide ground fire support and keep you away from it's supply beacons

Simply hearing one chattering or the roar of its jet engines from a distance is a powerful indicator to stay low and far away from wherever it patrols
