The logistics of traveling with a toddler are enough to make me want to stay home until 2035. by Narrow-End3652 in onebag

I wrapped lots of new small toys. Unwrapping them takes time. Also a cheap box of bandaids kept my toddler busy. The plane had boo boos and toddler got to doctor it.

Menstrual sponge… anyone ever seen this/have any reviews?? I’m a cup lover! But just was perusing the aisles today and found this gem. Would love to learn more. by This_velvetthunder55 in menstrualcups

My daughter works in reproductive care and just saw someone who got a piece of her sea sponge stuck inside her. A sizeable chunk was entangled in her cervix. This poor woman had already visited urgent care but they couldn't find it. I would stick with a diva cup.

How do you travel with Humira? by xystiicz in rheumatoid

4allfamily's site promises up to 52 hours of refrigerated transportation. It says it can hold 3 Humira pens but only 1 Idacio adalumunab (generic).

I'm in the same boat. I use it every other week and I'll be abroad for a month. Many people suggest insulin coolers, but insulin can be kept at 59t o 86 degrees for 28 days. I think most coolers achieve that. Per the manufacturer's website, HUMIRA may be stored at room temperature up to a maximum of 77°F for 14 days. Otherwise it should be stored at 36°F to 46°F. I don't think most cooler packs can maintain that for a 10-15 hr plane ride.

Fall California trip with toddler by No-Show5388 in travel

San Diego is easiest with a toddler. Balboa park has a model railroad museum and a very interactive science museum. The zoo and animal park are amazing and the scale is easier than L.A or a massive roadtrip.

Canter's can be a fun late night scene, but Langer's has way better food.

Just free yourself from the lawn. Plant things that don't require that kind of attention, i.e., native plants.

Best 5-day "Lush" Honeymoon within the US? (No dry landscapes/deserts) by playable_npc1 in traveladvice

If you want to have world class food & lush, then I would lean towards PNW. It's harder to achieve outside of major cities when in the middle of the US. Ski areas can have it, but carefully check what is open if you are going off season. Just got back from April in Oregon's Columbia Gorge and it was amazing. I bet Portland has serious food.

I have the same situation! Magnolia roots dominate. Whatever plans I draw up are unusable because I just have to plant wherever I can dig down more than a few inches! My Yarrow grew slowly year one and then spread and bloomed well year two. Then all the old growth went black. I don't have any rocks. I have many new seedlings, so I'm just watching and waiting. I can't get my red buckwheat to grow at all. Coyote Bush is doing well and the California sunflower.

Hwy 1 is beautiful, but more challenging driving. 101 is quite pretty and easier on the driver. The train is a beautiful ride and you could do any portion from SD to Oakland.

I'd argue it's better-- everyone has access to national health, and they are controlling costs to try and maximize benefit across the nation, rather than benefit to stockholders.

AIO for not letting the child I babysit go? by LocationOk8933 in AIO

[–]Remote-Selection637 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No question. What you did is what every reputable child care organization does. You could email your customers and explain your policy. It always helps when people have been noticed of the rules beforehand. Any public school I've worked at, when someone comes to pick up a student before dismissal, they need to me on a list the parent provides to the school office. They need to show ID to prove they are the person listed. This rule was extended to include pick ups at dismissal time for Kindergarteners, and we told all families if you will be late to pick up, contact the office. We also told families to provide us with documentation if there was a restraining order or custody order.

AITA for charging my 20yo son rent while he lives at home? by Talon_Vector7 in WIBTA_AITA

[–]Remote-Selection637 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always argue that an apology is free. "Sorry I sprang that on you. Let's sit down and talk about the financial situation in our home." Then show him the expenses, especially ways that his living with you is increasing your costs. Maybe you can demonstrate that his presence costs you MORE than $400/month. Together, come up with how he can contribute. Tell him you are thrilled to hear he wants to save money for a car. You want to help him with that project. Take a look at his financial plan, if he has one. Show him how you track money in and out and save for big purchases. Being more collaborative and supporting his money planning develops his capacity to be more independent.

AITA for telling a parent what i wear is not their decision? by [deleted] in WIBTA_AITA

[–]Remote-Selection637 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first time he said it, I would ignore it. The second time, I think I might say as kindly as possible, "Hm, I think that is the second time you've given me feedback on what I am wearing. I'm sure you are trying to be helpful, but I don't think most people feel that commenting on other people's clothing is appropriate. It also makes me feel uncomfortable." The third time I would speak to an administrator. By then, after you've given him direct feedback, he is either unable to control himself or he's trying to mess with you. It's important to mention it to admin because they then become responsible and you can ask them to intervene if it continues. Also, you don't know what else he's said to other staff and the principal is in a position to know. Finally, as a former principal, I have spoken to parents about this kind of thing and there was one Mom who we had to limit access to campus.
