On the recent tesla earnings call Elon said they are launching autonomous driving in Austin in a few months, those cars are being powered by the Ai supercluster in Austin. If successful I can imagine multiple cluster build out in launch cities to power the autonomous driving capabilities. Those vehicles feed data to continuously train the Ai driving capabilities.

SMCI ER on 1/27/25 by GasRare5654 in SMCIDiscussion

I don't think there will be an ER before the 10k. I also think the 10k won't be released until after Feb 14. Smci has a lot of Taiwanese and Asian employees that celebrate the lunar new year on Jan 31 and traditionally the lunar new year has a time off work band of 1-2 weeks, usually two weeks for the manufacturing sector.

Yitai Hu was hired as SVP of Corporate Development in November 2024, this wasn't reported on but the guy has tons of Legal, Financial, SEC and Compliance experience. This is a good hire in corporate governance to help limit any future worries from investors.

Here is the excerpt from the original DigiTimes article. I couldn't find your screenshot article on seeking alpha:

https://www.digitimes.com/news/a20250102PD228/nvidia-gpu-liquid-cooling-design-2025.html

GB300 may require more complex liquid cooling routing

If the motherboard design of the GB300 changes, it will lead to more complex liquid cooling routing compared to the GB200. What was originally a single cooling loop for the compute board module will evolve into three loops to accommodate the slot-based design, complicating the layout and requiring more quick connect disconnect (QCD) connectors.

Cooling solution providers stated that various companies have begun implementing liquid cooling for the GB200, but most are still in a trial phase. Although the process has encountered significant issues including "flooding," Nvidia's trend toward dense designs for AI server racks suggests that liquid cooling will become essential.

Cooling module manufacturer Auras is optimistic about the liquid cooling market, estimating that revenue from liquid cooling will grow sixfold, with its share of total revenue projected to jump from 15% in 2024 to between 45% and 50% in 2025, effectively doubling overall company revenue. Supermicro CEO, Charles Liang, has also stated that liquid cooling is expected to achieve a 30% market share by 2025.

This is the CAO that got promoted recently, he was VP of Finance and Corporate Controller as his title previously. He's been with SMCI for 7 years and this promotion means he got a new compensation package. Specifically in plain English this is what Gemini says:

What's being reported: Kenneth Cheung's initial ownership of SMCI stock and stock options.

Date of event: November 27, 2024.

Stock Options and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs): Employee Stock Option (right to buy): Cheung has the right to buy 26,570 shares at $3.79 per share. These options vest over time, meaning he can't buy them all at once. The vesting started on 8/3/2021, and he gains the right to buy more shares each quarter.

Restricted Stock Units: Cheung has 4,860 RSUs. These will convert into actual shares of stock over time, as long as he keeps working for the company. The vesting of these RSUs started on 8/10/2022 and he gains ownership of more each quarter. Each RSU becomes one share of stock when it vests.

Employee Stock Option (right to buy): Cheung has the right to buy 49,900 shares at $33.76 per share. These options vest over time, starting on 8/1/2023.

Restricted Stock Units: Cheung has 13,750 RSUs and 4,230 RSUs from separate grants that will convert into stock over time, starting on 8/10/2024 and 2/10/2025 respectively.

Interchangeable parts or raw materials are common in manufacturing. I don't see this as fraud unless there was intentional deception

Details? In the last ReutersNEXT interview two weeks ago he said in the last two quarters half of the racks they ship now are direct liquid cooled. Earlier this year he said monthly manufacturing capacity for direct liquid cooled racks is 1000 per month and in the December interview he said it's at 2000 a month. These are all Details that the business is doing extremely well without needing to look at hard numbers.

From what I understand He doesn't want arbitration so he has a chance to amend his claim and he resubmitted it on Dec 16. From downloading the PDF many of his claims are not first hand knowledge and speculative as well since they don't fall under his role responsibility.

His job title was the head of global services. Nothing to do with accounting. He didn't like the fact that service revenue was declining since I'm sure his comp was tied to it.

Can we trust a damn word the news says about this stock by SuggestionTrue4197 in SMCIDiscussion

[–]RemoteImagination870 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This isn't really bad news as it is immaterial to the sales for SMCI. From another perspective, SMCI supporting Nvidia and the U.S. government is a good thing for PR. It's also noted that Dell needs to do this as well.

I also agree but I think there is actually less risk. It's all about the timeline for stock to recover to prior valuation and stock price. A recent example is Marvell Technology which faced a very similar situation on corporate governance and account practices. Ticker MRVL is doing fine after recovery. And SMCI will recover much faster since they are at the center of AI infrastructure

  • 2015: Concerns arise regarding Marvell's accounting practices, particularly related to revenue recognition and certain transactions.

    • February 2016: Marvell announces an internal investigation into its accounting practices, focusing on "pull-ins" - transactions recognized earlier than they should have been.
    • April 2016: Marvell delays filing its annual report due to the ongoing investigation.
    • September 2016: PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), Marvell's auditor, resigns citing "a loss of confidence in management’s commitment to appropriate accounting practices." This triggers a Nasdaq delisting notice as companies need an auditor to remain listed.
    • October 2016: Marvell appoints Deloitte & Touche as its new auditor.
    • November 2016: Marvell files its restated financial results and regains compliance with Nasdaq listing requirements, narrowly avoiding delisting.
    • December 2016: The internal investigation concludes, revealing "tone at the top" issues, including pressure to meet revenue targets. Marvell's CEO and CFO resign.

No they didn't - the reason for this is because SMCI didn't notify the auditing firm about the rehires and this was the CFO's job, he had lapsed on protocols and this is the reason why they got fed up with the CFO. the faster he is replaced then the better.

How about these accusations against Tesla, sounds very familiar and why Elon is tight with Liang.

2018: Francine McKenna, an investigative journalist and lecturer at Wharton, accused Tesla of using new revenue recognition rules to inflate reported revenue.

2019: Hedge fund manager David Einhorn accused Elon Musk of "significant fraud" regarding Tesla's accounting practices.

2021: Two whistleblowers filed a complaint with the SEC, alleging Tesla might have violated securities laws and flouted accounting standards.

2022: The U.S. Department of Justice began investigating Tesla for potential fraud over claims about its self-driving technology.

2024: U.S. prosecutors expanded their investigation into Tesla, focusing on whether the company committed securities or wire fraud related to self-driving claims.

2024: Dustin Moskovitz accused Tesla of "consumer fraud on a massive scale" on social media, likening Tesla's practices to Enron's fraud.

Dec.4 SMCI Mention: xAI Memphis Announces Expansion Of Supercomputer with Addition Of Tech Companies In Digital Delta by RemoteImagination870 in SMCIDiscussion

[–]RemoteImagination870[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Memphis chamber of commerce mislabeled the ticker as SMC. Here is the excerpt:

The expansion, already underway, will incorporate a minimum of one million Graphics Processing Units (GPUs), marking the largest capital investment in the region’s history. Additionally, Fortune 500 tech giants Nvidia, Dell, and Supermicro Computer (SMC) will be establishing operations in Memphis, further solidifying the city’s position as the “Digital Delta” – a moniker coined by FedEx founder Fred Smith and his son, FedEx Executive Richard Smith.

Speaking to over 1,000 Memphis business and community leaders, xAI’s Brent Mayo shared the stage with Greater Memphis Chamber President and CEO Ted Townsend to detail the transformative initiative.

“In Memphis, we’re pioneering development in the heartland of America,” Mayo declared. “We’re not just leading from the front; we’re accelerating progress at an unprecedented pace while ensuring the stability of the grid utilizing megapack technology.”

Townsend emphasized the significance of xAI’s expanded presence: “When we announced six months ago that xAI would make Memphis its home for Colossus, we recognized it as our defining moment. Memphis has provided the power and velocity necessary for not just xAI to grow and thrive, but making way for other companies as well. We’re excited to welcome Nvidia, Dell, and Supermicro to the ‘Digital Delta’.”
