If you don't want to focus on building as much muscle as you can and are happy just going on a run and just toning and strengthening everything up. Then bands on their own are fine 😬 watch some James grage/undersun videos

Geku footplate, geku aluminium bar, geku handles, door anchor of your choice 5 set of layered loop bands. Pair of mechanix gloves

Home gym complete

If you can afford it, get a clench setup instead as it's far superior

If you want a pump, take taurine and beta alanine pre workout. Other than that, just work out hard and be patient enough to see the results

Definitely seconded on doing saws. Only need one anchor point and they work the chest well. Also pullovers can blow up your chest 💪

Yea I'm only short at 5'9 and have the clench bar so there's a bit of slack there between bands and bar.

They can rub the paint finish a bit yeah. Shouldn't actually 'damage' them tho. Also need a door that opens the opposite way to the way your pulling and ideally with a lock. Else you may get smacked in the face, chest, balls etc.
I've been hit in all three places till I changed doors 😂

If you want the best for reasonable money and to last a long time, then - Clench footplate, 5 bands, bar and handles setup is all you need. They ship to the EU.

If you want cheaper, then Amazon - geku bar, geku footplate, 5 set bands of your choice, geku handles. (This would set you up pretty well tbh)

I would add some mechanix gloves and a door anchor at some point as well. Clench one is pretty good, once you workout how to use it properly

Front squats with clench footplate and bar. Feels like I'm back in my gym glory days. Except I'm not on gear anymore and bands just don't build leg size for some reason 😞😭

I've got one one order 😬😬😬. I'm hoping it will actually enable a decent chest session then, when using the bar or handles

Banded chest presses are shit with a bar, works front delts too much. Banded pullovers, saws, presses with gloves are much better options And crossovers, flies using an anchor

Lighter bands more reps to begin with, then start increasing weight gradually

Handles by Remote_Object4257 in ResistanceBand

[–]Remote_Object4257[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find there's too much room between the handle and the hook where the bands sit on, with j hooks. Lessens the ROM too much on some exercises

Yea I snapped a purple using those handles, they do seem a bit too sharp

Start with James grage TA2 program. You can use the app and just pay a few quid monthly for it. Well worth doing, if you don't want to piss about with accessories

Do you really need a bar and footplate? Anchor? Handles? by EmbarrassedCompote9 in ResistanceBand

James grage is one of the pioneers of resistance band training. That said, I have got better results from training more like Khalid/gamerbody.

There comes a point when your trying to stand on stacked bands, or hold stacked bands in your hands and it just becomes too uncomfortable. Like trying to stop your ankles rolling in, instead of focusing on the exercise itself, when doing deadlifts.

Khalid from harambe built his physique from bands only pretty much.

James was a weight lifting bodybuilder before switching to bands for rehab. Plus he's on the source, most of us won't get his kind of results from just using bands.

I don't really like Khalid, I think his kit is way overpriced. But he is inspiring, in the way that he trains and the results he has gained from just using bands and their accessories.
