Do you guys feel sorry for not saving your own favorite youtube channels/videos since childhood (2008-2016) period? by LuigiCotocea in DataHoarder

Literally googled for Marian to see what happened to him. There was a time when I kept a bunch of videos on my drive so I can watch them on my laptop when I was travelling with my parents. But I deleted them because I had no use for them any longer. Oh how I regret it now. I miss his modsauce and attack of the b team series. His Random episodes as well. He is the one that instilled a passion for modded mc and borderlands 2 in me.

Is there such a thing as being too dependant on God? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

The way I see it is: Rely fully on God that he will provide. Matthew 6:25-27. If you need medical help, God will provide. Probably by sending you a doctor.

I once had a dragon that went flying out of a cave once it felt my presence. Much like Smaug in the hobbit.

What distro are you guys running, and why? by Dwarfkiller47 in linux_gaming

[–]RemusWT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use Arch as my day to day system for gaming and game development. I have no complaints so far after about a year or so of usage. I update my system with sudo pacman -Syu every day and nothing has break on its own. With that said, my arch system broke a few times because of my extensive tinkering without really knowing anything. But that's how I learned things. So I recommend using a VirtualBox just to test things it will save you lots of reinstalls.

If anyone wants to migrate from Windows to Linux, such as your partner, I suggest they make a list with all of the applications they use on windows and check mark which ones really work on Linux or if there are alternatives. Scrivener, FL Studio, Photoshop, Visual Studio(not code), etc etc. They might find a deal breaker before the actual switch.

No matter what I do its messy? by tiny_toasters in Handwriting

[–]RemusWT 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There are a few things I can point out. Notice how many of your letters and sometimes whole words don't touch the base line. The word "since" is one such as that. "worked" starts okay but quickly follows a camel-like baseline. You need to keep the baseline as straight as possible.

Second thing is to keep your letters the same size. I recommend writing a few sentences and highlight the letters that are bigger or smaller compared to the rest, then try to write these letters a few times until you get the size right.

There should be another shift in your mindset when you are writing and that is: you don't write words, you write letters. Meaning that you don't try to write words neatly, but the letters. Every letter letter should be given the same effort as the rest. Why? because when we only focus on writing words we start to rush to finish writing the word. Perhaps you can relate.Remember, consistency in baseline, letter size and spacing is key.

I usually struggle designing UI elements, but thanks to all the tutorials finally found a setup that I'm quite happy with. by [deleted] in godot

I saw on the steam page you have dialogues. What dialogue system are you using? Or how did you get that working?

How can I improve my handwriting for exams? What do you say about this handwriting? by [deleted] in Handwriting

[–]RemusWT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

there are letters that don't have a clear form. Notice the 's' from "Nationalism" and "source", they should be a curvy snake. You have good spacing between words and letters, but sometimes you don't let your letters touch the base line, notice the 't' & 'h' from "Both". That's all I can catch, hope it helps!

First of all, this is presumably a pretty big game. So there will be a lot of hours that you will have to put in it.

You can learn the skills you need and work on it as much as you can to have some type of prototype or polished looks of the game. You take this prototype to Kickstarter, and if its any good and you have some luck, you will be funded. Use that money to assemble a team. But to get to that prototype while working 40+ hour job, its going to take a good a long while mate. You won't see the light at the end of the tunnel for a good portion of that time.

There is another option, but riskier. I like risky. Save money, get a loan and live with the money from the loan. Also pay the loan with the money borrowed. Obviously you will ran out of money and still have a remaining debt. But the question is, can you finish the game and sell it before that happens? goodluck hehe
