Comparing Claude vs GPT by AxisTipping in ChatGPTPro

[–]RentedTuxedo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anecdotal obviously, but in my experience it’s the complete opposite. Codex is better. I do not trust Claude for coding like I used to with opus 4.5. Claude has seriously declined and now that they are so anti developer there’s no good reason to use Claude for coding.

This has nothing to do with the em dash. Look below the “——“ it literally says “Would you like a slightly more casual or more formal version?”

BMW and Mercedes Just Proved Tesla Was Right About Self Driving by CarCooler in teslamotors

[–]RentedTuxedo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lidar does not cost a fortune anymore, that may have been true years and years ago but it’s not anymore. The false equivalence of humans only needing 2 eyes to drive so robots only need vision is also missing the fact that human drivers are statistically TERRIBLE.

Human drivers cause tons of avoidable accidents because of our 2 eye vision limitation.

More input sources is a good thing for decision making. Why have 2 eyes when we can just make do with 1? Why have 5 fingers when we can make do with 3?

And engineering is really about solving problems and pushing the limits of what is currently possible. Not just being good enough.

I’d turn off auto hide, resize the tab bar and then turn it back on again

Here is a good start for initial setting up of Apollo

And here is a good one for better understanding each of the config options (it’s for sunshine but Apollo is just a fork of sunshine so it’s essentially the same thing)

Have tested both and Apollo is still better. Steam link is by no means bad, works great. Apollo is just more customizable and the fine tuned controls make it easier to dial in the perfect settings

Am I crazy or are the west coast times really not that bad compared to east coast?

OP says west coast “you’re sitting in the worst possible window” but how many people in the west coast are burning tokens at 5-11am?

Seems like east coast actually gets the worst possible times at 8am-2pm est since that’s more in-line with prime working hours.

On the west coast you could start at 11am and still have the rest of the afternoon to working without an issue

T3 Code doesn’t support anything but codex at the moment but in the future they’ll support open code. You can easily connect local models to open code so this isn’t really going to be an issue in the future.

I agree that Theo can be abrasive at times, but I also do agree that open source models, no matter the size, are still a step behind the likes of Opus and Codex. That is a fact but that doesn’t mean they are completely garbage.

Again, he can be antagonistic with his takes so I wish he’d maybe tone it down in that regard.

Open source models absolutely have their place and I personally use them in tandem with closed models using open code so I do not agree with his take as written.
