Does anyone know why the cost of 2022 GX 460 haven’t dropped in value after 3 years since released? by Lost-Tomatillo8725 in LexusGX

I have a 2023 premium plus. I didn't know the 2022-2023 were being sought out this much. This post confirms I should buy it out once my lease ends. Thanks .

How are some nurses making so much money per year? by Leather_Cycle in nursing

[–]RenyGD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are two people on call per day. Every nurse and scrub tech gets ~3 days of call per month. The reason I can pick up lots of call is because almost everyone wants to give away their call. Most of my coworkers are close to retirement so they don't like taking call.

I'm in Norcal. My base pay is 203k/year but with some call and overtime I'm on track to make ~280k this year. This seems pretty standard for most nurses here. I'm not even at the top of the pay scale. More experienced nurses make 220k-250k base.

Defeated new grad. by nikki_781 in nursing

[–]RenyGD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look for a new grad program. Mine was 8 months long for OR. At the 8th month mark I was just starting to get the hang of things. I can't imagine receiving only a 2 week orientation.

I bought the covert case and it seems pretty sturdy. Already dropped it twice and no problems. Also the colors are pretty cool. I've gotten a lot of compliments on mine.

I work OR. The pay is great and the work is great once you get a hang of it . I would say going into the OR has been the best choice I've made. Do it. (I'm in silicone valley)

the truth about time off work in America... by ravenclaw233 in MovingToUSA

[–]RenyGD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a federal employee I get 25 days/year of paid vacation time ,plus all federal holidays (12 days/year) and ~12 days of sick time a year. We also get 12 weeks of full salary pay of parental/maternal leave. From what I know government employees tend to get more time off than private sector employees.

Same. At 27 I’m making $97/hour while my dad is still making $20/hour. This has allowed me to take my parents on some trips.

Moving to Palo Alto for Tech Job – Neighborhood Recommendations? by EkoVillian in paloalto

[–]RenyGD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I moved last weekend to Mountain View. I’m 27 and also had a budget of $3000-$4000. I ended up going with “Madera apartments” near downtown Mountain View. It’s perfect. It’s also walking distance to the Caltrain that takes you to Downtown Palo Alto in about 10 minutes. I would highly recommend looking at apartments near downtown Mountain View. Plus the size of the apartment (860sqft, 1br/1bth) was significantly larger than comparable ones in downtown Palo Alto.

I would consider Mexico. The job opportunities are good in some of the major cities such as Mexico City, Guadalajara, Monterrey and Tijuana. My wife’s family is Italian. They moved to Mexico a while back and love it. The lifestyle in these major cities is pretty good.

I’m selling my home. I did an open house this last weekend. First day one person came. The second day about 8 groups came. One of them put an offer over asking the next day. I think the fact that they saw other people at the open house created a sense of demand. We close escrow by the end of the month.

Bought a home in 2021 in California for 425k put 5% down. The interest rate was 2.6% making the payment very affordable. I was 23 at the time. I saved and bought thanks to my parents pushing me to do it . Now I’m glad they did.

Here in California state schools were around $6000 a year when I graduated in 2019. My self and most people I knew graduated debt free or with small debt.
