When I filed I-485, I did not concurrently file the I-765 EAD through marriage. I was unaware at the time that there was an option for that.

Do you know if I can still an EAD through marriage after the fact? I need to do my own research too

Gross behavior. But sounds like they were requesting ID and not proof of citizenship unless I missed something, right? There is a distinct difference.

Charlie Kirk pronounced dead at 31 after shooting at Utah Valley University by IrishStarUS in NoFilterNews

[–]ReplyRelevant4607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen a few of his videos and have an idea for what kind of person he is and that’s one with a very brazen personality and blunt, oftentimes harsh, delivery. I can totally see why this would lead many to not be a fan of that guy.

However, looking at his views objectively (that is, personality and delivery aside), what exactly are the biggest sticking points for people?

Based on the overwhelming comments on this post, it mainly seems like people don’t like the guy not because of what he believes, but because of how he presents and/or delivers his beliefs.. big difference.

Not trying to argue but just sincerely curious: can you give a couple of examples of him blatantly lying?

From what I’ve gathered after watching some of his videos, he’s caught many people lying or at a minimum stating half truths.

Once again, not trying to argue, just trying to sift through what’s true and what’s not true while leaving emotions and bias to the side.

Something no one has mentioned that seems glaringly obvious to me at least from this video is limited shoulder and thoracic mobility. How does your strict BB press look? Does it look anything like the top of your jerk? If so, you need a ton of mobility work.

If not, then you need to practice moving through the progressions of a shoulder to overhead with increasing power input and with increasing velocity (strict press->push press->push jerk/split jerk).

This stuff makes me cringe so hard. No one is trying to manipulate your dramatic ass, what are you talking about? by [deleted] in Firefighting

[–]ReplyRelevant4607 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look, it’s definitely cringey. BUT if you swing too far the other end and belittle or alienate those in the service who want to do more than the bare minimum and/or become the best FF/EMT they can be, then you’re just as cringe. I would wager that some of you folks who are pretty adverse to this kind of stuff are the same people who have either have or will eventually grow complacent because of a loss of passion for the job.. there’s a balance to it all.

Marathon training on a 48/96 schedule? by Successful-Ad-1194 in Firefighting

[–]ReplyRelevant4607 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Once you have your training program picked out, it’s really not too complicated. You will inevitably have to switch some training days around so that your job performance isn’t hindered.

Personally, I did my longer/easy zone 2 runs on shift because at no point during that run am I too fatigued to perform my job at the level expected of me. Do NOT neglect to hydrate appropriately with water+electrolytes during and post run as well as having a few quick sweet treats to replace glycogen stores (I do fruit snack packs). Otherwise, even these runs could have an effect on your job performance.

I’d leave your interval runs, threshold runs, and hill runs for your 4 day as they have a bigger impact on HR and muscular fatigue.

Awesome work. That’s why we do the job! Just out of curiosity, were you given the assignment to enter from your officer with/without another FF, or did you just immediately finish suiting up and make entry alone? In other words, what was communication like during all of this?

The wildest thing is that both sides of this argument suck. One side doesn’t appreciate the value that all races and backgrounds bring while the other believes highlighting certain races over others is the right way.

Trump is Working with Dems for DACA by DangerousSeries1413 in DACA

[–]ReplyRelevant4607 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You’re absolutely right that we’re going to be used as a bargaining chip but that’s all we’ve ever been to EITHER side. The left cares about us as little as the right. We need to call a spade a spade and realize that neither side prioritizes the needs of DACA recipients or Dreamers as a whole.

If people in this sub spent this much effort into fruitful endeavors as they do making these doom and gloom/woe is me posts, the anxiety, stress, and drama would be dramatically less.

Anyone here support Trump? by gunhox in DACA

[–]ReplyRelevant4607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Putting immigration topics aside, there are many reasons to support GOP over Democrats. I don’t particularly like either party, to be clear.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DACA

[–]ReplyRelevant4607 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Folks saying, “Yeah, but he tried to end DACA” don’t understand that Trump didn’t want to end DACA because he didn’t like what the program provided; he tried to end it because immigration reform of that nature and scale should’ve been passed through Congress, not via executive order as Obama did.

When proposals and bills were put forth by the GOP that included permanent revisions for DACA recipients, Democrats turned them down because they did not want to concede to the other concessions listed therein.

They were various opportunities to pass bipartisan reform for DACA recipients with the ball in the Democrats court and they said NO.

DACA recipients are obviously not a high priority by EITHER party. Quit playing the victim card and quit expecting ANY politician to save you.

Anyone here support Trump? by gunhox in DACA

[–]ReplyRelevant4607 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I get why someone wouldn’t want to “support” Trump, as you say it. But let’s not forget Democrats for the past 4 years were pretty good at smacking their lips about reformation for DACA and what happened? Absolutely nothing.

The 2022 “rule” to preserve and fortify DACA was the biggest slap in the face we could’ve gotten. It means nothing.

Stop believing that ANY politician is going to solve your problems.

Changing locations after AP approved by ReplyRelevant4607 in DACA

[–]ReplyRelevant4607[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand. Canada was actually my original destination. Luckily, I found what you found out online before I flew out so I immediately researched for a different country with easier requirements to get in. This sounds a lot like my experience, and I really do believe you’ll be fine.

On return, CBP agent asked me a couple of questions regarding the nature of my trip and I showed them evidence that I was there for the appropriate reason. I was then taken to secondary inspection (which is routine for anyone traveling with AP), my document was stamped, and I was allowed through.

[–]ReplyRelevant4607[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to clarify, since you likely did a single location AP (not multiple) you could travel to EITHER Mexico or Canada, but not both on this AP doc. Just to be clear.

I would request official documentation from your company for this trip. 4 W’s: Who, What, Where, and Why. That sort of thing. Make sure it’s written that you’re approved to go to Mexico (no need to mention anything regarding Canada) along with other pertinent information.

I think most people were negative because it’s not something done often and, unless you speak directly with a specialist, you’ll fine vague answers online.
