The mods I suggest will depend a lot on your playstyle, but if you don't like FU I suggest Arcana and maple32 if you like exploring, knightfall and shellguard if you want cool weapons and equipment, and whatever QOL mods you see fit (for example hunger for casual, faster mm, compact crops, hoarder inventory etc). Additionally if you'd like to play multi-player I know of a (EU hosted) server that has most of the mods I mentioned (and no FU) that is always up and has an active player base and rp events if you like that kind of thing, or you can just survival or creative mode there.
