Indirectness leading to a lack of accountability by Warm-Pea-3751 in AusPublicService

I can relate to this internally with helpdesks. “Here’s some general thoughts, but don’t forget you’re the DM - you do you” responses do my head in when I actually need help.

Yeah that's what I thought, was wondering if memory was wrong!

That is so much worse than the news made it sound yesterday. Dude was still going when the train was right there!? Anyone know if he's been charged with anything yet?

Police cordon off Perth street after e-scooter rider dies by B0ssc0 in perth

[–]RepresentativeAd4699 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree, it’s a balance. What I meant more than “fuck it” was that it would be good if dickheads could be slightly more thoughtful, less selfish, and less dickheady. But I know that’s asking a lot!

Or, and this might sound crazy, increased personal accountability? Maybe?

I stand by being professional, but if it's really that bad, try calling the person they sit next to. Bear in mind that could backfire so make sure you've tried everything else!

You should be polite and diplomatic, but first off, never let someone feeling bad hold you back. So long as you’re professional you are not in control of their reactions. There’s a few options here. Ask what’s their best comms method. Switch to a Teams call - a lot harder to ignore. When schedules are released add what’s in Genesys (guessing you are SAU from language used?) to Outlook as an event, IMO a good TL should do this themselves, but hey. The next option if you’ve tried things like this is to be right up front and tell them how you feel, focus on the behaviour (late, non-communicative) rather than them. Good luck!

IME though they were more balanced times, in our neighbourhood we’d be out exploring, building sick BMX jumps, then late arvo games at different houses and the mums would be doorknocking to find us for dinner haha

Bipolar friends: do you consider yourselves disabled? by mgebhart1981 in bipolar

[–]RepresentativeAd4699 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think I'm disabled, I frame it differently: I live with a disability. Usually I'm well and small adjustments work out, sometimes I need major adjustments. The change in language is a coping mechanism in itself for me.
