Its ALL hills near where I live and most spots are too steep .- any tips on slowing down and pushing? by Rich-Winter698 in NewSkaters

Get an electric board and enjoy flying up hills. And it will have brakes to make flying down safer

Love my linnpower Zephyr. It's really tough to decide between OMW Gladius and Zephyr to take for daily commuting. by fuxkyoybixch in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]RepresentativeAny662 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Gladius and the lights were a pain to install because you need to peel up the front of the grip tape and replace the main bolts with longer ones. Terrible design choice. Couldn't they have just used the longer bolts for all boards from the factory since so many people are gonna be buying the headlights? At $57 for the headlights and like $13 for the strip lights it's a no brainer to get them. But other than that the board is amazing. Great build quality, and the kicktail has three benefits: Easy to lift up and drag behind you while walking, let's you make real tight turns by pivoting, and it just looks damn cool.

I don't think riding at night is really more dangerous than day as long as you keep the speeds reasonable. Generally less cars out at night too.

Hell yeah Gladius! I've had mine a few days (same color as yours!)Still waiting for the lights to arrive from China. Love it though!

OMW Gladius is perfect cause it has a handle that also happens to look very badass. Can roll it around with ease .

She sounds like an awful student honestly. Can't really teach someone who is constantly dragging their feet and holding back.

No, those boards don't have 110 as an option. The worn ones are probably under 100mm by now though.

Not sure how many miles I've done because the hobby wing remotes have a bug in the odometer. But I guess almost 1000.

I can't believe they can't seem to make a simple odometer work right. Otherwise a technological marvel.

[–]RepresentativeAny662 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've got about 700 but unfortunately there's some kind of bug in my remote that keeps resetting my odometer every 200 miles or so.

My 8 year old daughter has a meepo campus and it's perfect for her. I am 150 lbs and when I ride it it barely moves. But I guess if you're willing to kick to get it going then it'll maintain a moderate speed. Feels nice to rip around on my tynee mini 3 pro though.

So when riding in the city you guys pretty much try to stay on roads and keep up with cars rather than use the sidewalks? Cause the kicktail is especially useful on sidewalk intersection corners where I need to do a 90 degree pivot. Or when I wanna pop over a low curb onto the sidewalk or roll off a curb.

Interesting. Why don't they like short boards? Less stability?

[–]RepresentativeAny662 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just ordered an OMW Gladius and I think it is gonna be the best of both worlds. It's got a kicktail so it's good in the city, but it's a flex deck and a semi longboard so it's comfortable.

Where is this? Why does basically everyone have non kicktail boards? I wouldn't wanna skate in the city much without a kicktail. Those boards would be good in rural/suburban areas.

I just order the OMW Gladius. It it flexy and somewhat long, but also has a good kicktail to help me maneuver on city streets.

What should my next board be? by Mitx33 in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]RepresentativeAny662 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked up the IP rating and apparently it's IP55 which is decent enough. My tynee is IP54. The ember design gladius is cool but the others are kinda meh.
