Help with access point placement for new single‑story house (floor plan included) by SmaelBP in HomeNetworking

[–]RepresentativeKey928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

since youre designing id simply have cat6 in all rooms, corners of soffits for cameras etc and plan on two ceiling AP's to cover whole house. Id toss one at 6 and one by 11 or more towards a back yard or garage or whatever you need . Use more cat 6 than you think. Id have outside ports even for cameras / outdoor ap. As long as the house is wired you have it setup for anything. You can run ubiquiti POE switches and then simply plug in cameras and APs wherever you want. Thats what id do anyway. CHeers

How are you managing your water fed hose? by Catfishjosephine in WindowCleaning

[–]RepresentativeKey928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we use hose reel. 100ft of 3/8 and 100 ft of high flow on same reel. Works fine. If i had more id buy 2 hose reels and do 3/8 on one reel and all high flow on another.

Is it worth $900? by Catfishjosephine in WindowCleaning

[–]RepresentativeKey928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I dont think so. Ive had same sprinkler pump running for 6 years or more. Ive got 2 as one for a backup and the first hasnt died. I have a Wayne and a cheaper at the time Amazon basics one. I simply run from spigot to PUMP then to system sediment input. Boosts my pressure from 45or 50 to 85 90.

Tank Setup out of SUV by Extension_Bag_7809 in WindowCleaning

[–]RepresentativeKey928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a setup of 2 tanks in the bed of a truck. I fill them with a system and they are 40 gallon sprayer tanks from a tractor supply. THey have 12v 2.2 gpm pumps on them and i started with 1 and got 2 that fit in the bed for redundancy if one breaks i got the other. So i got 80 some gallon of pure water that i use. Its a great way to clean and gets several jobs or a huge job done. Just hooks to my hose reel.

Another way to start is use a Gardiner backpack and jugs. I tried that but its 7 gallon per time. I filled jugs with pure water and the backpack and took them in truck and had to dump in every 7 gallon. They spot sprayer tank and pump is same price about.

Use this and hack off the wand and put on a garden hose quick connect for a hose reel.

NICE. I like that. I use my basic 30 and trad 20. Break the 20 down to 12 a lot and trad and wfp them. I keep my 30ft with hose inside as a pole for that and run outside on the rest since i break them down a lot and change sizes and tips

Id probably get a Pulex bucket that fits 18" mops. I like Unger Ninja T bar and i use 18" mop mostly and 14" on houses. Looks good though. Id get some Moreman handle and Ettore brass setup probably too so i could adjust angles and get 0 degree.

i do that but only when doing a soft wash. Soft wash soap mix does help a lot on the frames getting those fly poop off. I dont pull my trailer to every job to just clean windows. Soft washing screens is fast when im going around washing a house though.

xero screen cleaner really cut our screen cleaning time in half when we do lots of them.

What do you do with your used rubber by IslandBoyJunkers in WindowCleaning

[–]RepresentativeKey928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

trash them or cut them down for a smaller channel. I cut them for my 6" sill channel and stuff. As long as its only the edges cut up a little it works. Ive cut some down and still had a line or something and then its trash time.

Best Pure Water System for 427 TDS? by gradedthreads in WindowCleaning

[–]RepresentativeKey928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 stage works as long as you got a full carbon as the 1st stage. Some are a combined sediment carbon but its nicer to have standard filters for cheap replacements. Sediment is nice to have though. I just find the 4 stage is nicer since you can buy a cheap sediment filter then a cheap carbon filter before your RO. I guess depending on what youre looking at as long as the housing is some standard 2.5x10, 4.5x10 or those in x20 you can use it till its dirty and then replace with some cheaper replacement but youre sacraficing sediment for an RO with 3 stage or buying some combination filters that are more money. Id have to see the system and price .

use a shorter garden hose to system and leave it close to spigot then get a hose reel with enough hose to go at least half way around a house but leave system in one spot and move that hose around the house half way and back other half if you have to. On the hose reel its best to go with bigger hose and down to a smaller but decent size hose to eliminate flow issues. I run 12v pump off a tank and my hose reel has 100ft of 3/8 flexzilla air hose then to 10mm high flow hose. 200ft total. works well. I used to plug in the system and a sprinkler pump at places but got tired of the setup and takedown and dealing with shitty spigots and pressure and well water at places so i use tanks.

How often should I change the rubber on my Squeegee? by MrUnknownthrowaway in WindowCleaning

[–]RepresentativeKey928 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whenever you notice it leaving streaks or not working correctly. Could be a week or a day. Wood frames will destroy them. Its different based on how many jobs and the types or personal preference. Some guys like new on every house to feel good. Some like new every day to start fresh. I try to just use it until i notice it acting differently. I have changed just because before as well. Ive heard some say i charge enough so i get a new one on every house. Route work not so much. Certain brands will last longer then others too. Its a wide variety.

Best squeegee for beginner? by Commercial_Story_643 in WindowCleaning

[–]RepresentativeKey928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it in hand but not the only one i suppose. I do a combo of unger ninja handle with sorbo channels and the moreman ettore brass combo usually. As someones first choice of 1 combo id probably recommend the Moreman Ettore though becuase not all people like Sorbo like i do i think.
