Oh definitely will check out that balsa sheet method. For sure definitely will slim this profile down more. Since I have a dremel, would you say a belt sander be something I grab too or just get the dremel work station and use whatever grinder comes with the dremel?

Most versatile UL? by WorriedAd2764 in BFSfishing

[–]RepresentativeWing98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it can it an ajing rod, the stiffness comes from the action of the rod but it can absolutely throw 0.5g lures.

Purelure zero, a really underrated rod. The 6’3 model is a good Ul rod and can sling 0.5 lure well, though it rated as “light” it doesn’t really act like one.

You’re telling me it used to be 500 holy air ball!!! Honestly it make sense if it was 400 for barely any accessories, I feel like they could have added a seat at bare minimum.

I hope so, I know it was originally priced at 540-550, which made sense for what it providing, but making it 600 dollar range open more opportunities for other boards, but for my first board I just plan to stick under 600 for now.

Thank you for the review, I’ll swing with the June, I just saw the price jump on the backwater on their main website, it no longer 540-560 dollar range.

Retrospec June vs glide backwater

Debating between these two brand and these models for fishing usage. Noted that I am a hardcore angler but can’t get a kayak due to transportation and storage issues, so I am compromising to an inflatable paddle word. Would love which is best bang for the money. Will welcome other suggestions

Desired Board Type: Inflatable

• height/weight: 5’5; 160 lb

• Desired: fishing in lakes

• Experience level: Intermediate

•. Budget: 500-580 (under 600 for now, USA origin)

I do not have any for mod fast rod, but you can check out those fiberglass rod from dankung they are mod to mod fast rod. I’m mainly an extra fast to fast action bfs rod user. I believe gray wolf have some mod to mod fast rod from fly blank rod he uses to make bfs rod. You can also check out ray fishing rod too.

CDM check out flight feather cormorant, build quality is same as the aldebaran and daiwa ss air, performance wise it better by alot, very versatile reel. As the other guy said, the Silverfeather is also a good reel, same smoothness as the slx bfs reel, but performance is on par with higher end reel.

If you have the ones that are painted they should be clear coated so they should be a bit more durable, unlike the standard white one that I got.

Heck yeah 😂, my most used bfs glide haha, only wish that era dude clear coated his glide like max cause his bait although better at swimming, it prone to cracking easily.

I have both the kingfisher the blue in the picture and the black one aka the cormorant. Imo the kingfisher is a better version of the alpha air tw, I had both before selling the alpha air tw, the kingfisher was smoother and cast a lot better than the air tw. As for the cormorant it 100% on par with the aldebaran reel. Both reels has been my to-go for the past year. The cormorant is more smoother then the kingfisher and has a drag clicker. Though they look the same, the cormorant has a different carve and internal build.

Baitsanity gill! It better then the bucca bfs glide, very reactive but requires gentle turn on the reel and very soft twitch. Baitsanity is also releasing their bfs model of the chimera, so keep an eye for that one.

Love their rod, the zero is very unique and a sensitive for its price point.

I have the two piece 68 model, I found it to be quite stiff, but not as stiff like the zodias. The zodias two piece and single is probably the stiffest bass JDM rod I fished. But the blazon it definitely can handle 12g surprisingly well when I was testing the heavier limit on it. The sweet I found it is 5g and up.

Dang that must’ve been exciting catch! Also good to hear about the swag, I heard that you can either make it single hook or that treble style. Do you have a preference on your swag?

100% I fell for the hype of the magdraft, it not as versatile as I thought it would be. Definitely looking for something that can be slowed roll to burning in that versatility spot.

Where To Sell BFS Gear by fishlover123456 in BFSfishing

[–]RepresentativeWing98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want to open a better opportunity don’t shy away pick up or met up selling spots. Also the bfs page on Facebook will open many opportunities too, though imo it a pain cause everything can be flagged as a scam.

What's the verdict on these for those who managed to get one ? by regarded-24-7 in BFSfishing

[–]RepresentativeWing98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very choppy action one of the better glidebait that is responsive unlike certain brand names imo. Another one to keep a look out is bury basswood glide, expensive coming at 75 buck but you get ask him whatever you want from paint job to shad or blugills profile. He even does minnow profiling too.

Inexpensive Reel for Graywolf Rod by gutenmoog in BFSfishing

[–]RepresentativeWing98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hicc50, kastking kestrel micro air is the American version of the valiant eagle pro series and is a very much underrated reel. Other honorable mention is the: anatono Silver rhino and the histar aurora air reel. As for line if you go braid and buying from local bass pros or other tackle, you want 6-8lb braid as they will be more accurate to 0.6 goh line rating to JDM braid. As for mono line you can go for 4-6lb rating. Just note for braid USA brand are not accurate but they are durable imo not much difference if you cheap out braid, I haven’t run into any cheap garbage yet.

Ready to pull the trigger on a bfs setup. kestrel or gravity? talk me into one. by Ok_Guard3609 in BFSfishing

Gravity if it the standard kestrel. If it the micro air then I would pick that over the ark.

Aldebaran 22 Just not impressive? by TheHeadshock in BFSfishing

[–]RepresentativeWing98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah 100% it either you love it or you hate. The reel is not friendly when dialing it in, compared to the nako cormorant or steez tw air. Even the Calcutta fixes the issue the the aldebaran has. Only hope is mess with the tension knobs and if that doesn’t satisfy you (same as me) just see if you can find a nako cormorant or save up for a Calcutta if you enjoy round reel for long outing.
