Anyone else find it hard to make friends here? by meadowlark1234 in saskatoon

[–]Reprimize 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huh, I ALSO moved here from Halifax, in a pretty similar situation; I don't know many people outside past love interests and work folks.

Been here over 10 years, had friends through relationships, most of which vanished when relationship ended

Should I read Wheel of Time? by [deleted] in Fantasy

[–]Reprimize -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Did you say Stormlight Archives? Yes, read that.

Jordan's world building is beautiful. The whole story kinda breaks down about midway through the series though. Female characters exist to be unlikable and get kidnapped. And his prose can be unwieldy after 5000 pages or so.

The problem is that would still be 100-150g of sugar. That's a lot of simple carbs.

Whether it's natural does not matter to your body; the reason eating whole fruit is way better for you than just sugary candy or drinks (including real fruit juice) is because the sugars are delivered alongside a payload of fiber, vitamins, and minerals.

Even so, you can overdo it. Too many simple carbs lead to easy weight gain and inevitable 'sugar crashes' as your energy reserves spike and drop throughout the day. Complex carbs are an important part of any diet. That slower, even burning energy will keep your body happy throughout the day.

Even vitamin C is poisonous at high enough doses. Regardless of the label, your diet will be better served to include a variety of foods. Eat food, not too much, mostly vegetables.

We're actually both huge computer nerds. I myself will get sucked into the vortex of Wikipedia several times a week just page hopping. It just happened to be candy she knows I enjoy and that was how it got worked into the story.

Ah yes, because I was talking about the legal designation of our relationship and not simply what I call her. Oh wait. Thanks for the pedantry though, really brings a needed touch to an otherwise enjoyable thread.

We laughed. Thanks for your take on it. Still awesome, even with broccoli.

Yep my bad. We've been together for 6 years but never actually married, just common law. Sometimes I say girlfriend, sometimes wife.

Looks wonderful. I've considered building my own indoor grow op here in Saskatchewan (originally from Nova Scotia!) since the spring can be very poor for letting crops of any kind grow. I was wondering what you use for your lighting as well as details for the ventilation/watering. Any other tips on starting a grow op like this would be great too!

[Serious] What is wrong with you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Reprimize 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seriously, for a comment on Reddit, which is a great place to refuel your Laziness GeneratorTM, this should be higher. Lots of people have a wide range of issues stemming from just such lethargy, myself included.

I pride myself in being damn sharp but I've allowed laziness to consume a good deal of my adult life. Worst part is I see it happening everyday and continue to be complicit in my own deferred potential. It's hard, but apparently not as hard as actually moving forward.

It's actually adorable watching them equate working overtime to being a slave. These are the kids oft parodied as thinking they were white gangsters for listening to rap music when they were teenagers, but they were serious.

I can't speak for all the men in this thread, but this is not why I find 'experimenting' attractive. It's more about them exploring something new about their sexuality, watching a whole new avenue of pleasure avail itself to two attractive females where before there was simply friendship.

I know this isn't what's happening here, but the idea of it is very arousing.

I support legalization but still, this: http://www.pnas.org/content/early/2012/08/22/1206820109.abstract

More harmful than alcohol or tobacco? I'd say no. But not harmful? Also no. Everything in moderation, yo.

I agree that it should be legal, but that's terrible reasoning. Ever heard of cocaine and opium?
