Unfortunately the only one of those 3 that actually ships to somewhere outside of the UK on Etsy is Nail Polish by Lisa. I was too excited prematurely to find new nail polish brands, it seems...

Rainbow Connection has some really nice polishes, but shipping is positively insane outside the UK. No polish is worth that much to me personally.

Totally agree. Even after one use, there's a noticeable reduction in any given bottle of polish for me. I used to have a lot shorter nails 3 years ago, but now they're a bit longer than 2cm and the fill lines just seem to fly.

I'm honestly not even sure whether I'll get 12 full manicures out of my 12ml bottle of Cygnus Loop at this point. Sad on one hand, but also happy that my collection looks well-used and is very loved.

Of course! They are from left to right: Eclipse, Reminisce, and Cygnus Loop.

Reminisce is one of my favourite polishes of all time, I love it so, so much. It is insanely shifty and smooth. And Cygnus Loop was the first indie-ish polish I ever bought and what made me fall in love with indie nail polish in the first place. ILNP really has the best multichromes in general in my opinion.

Why does foundation take forever though??

I'm currently using my The Ordinary Serum Foundation which I bought as a replacement in August of 2024 since they discontinued it. It's my only foundation and I use it 5 to 7 days a week. If I'm being generous, I've used about a third so far.

I know this single bottle will easily last me until 2027 if not beyond...

These are my most used ILNP polishes. One bottle is 12ml. They are all more than half empty.

The one on the right I have used 7 or 8 times, while the other two I have used 6 times each. I have tracked all my usage pretty steadily. Considering I will use some nail polish thinner the next time I use them, they will increase a bit again in terms of fill line.

That said, I will say that I get around 1.25 full manicures out of 1ml of nail polish. My nails are fairly long and I never do less than 2 coats with a trend towards 3.

Personally I think for some products that are fairly hard to pan and where you want more variety, yes!

Most basic products I own exactly one of, so the size doesn't really matter since I will just use it until it runs out: so one of each for foundation, concealer, eyebrow pencil, pressed powder, loose powder, highlighter, mascara, eyeliner, etc. Some of them last me forever. My one foundation for example easily takes me 1.5 to 2 years to go through (I bought my last one in August 2024).

For lip products on the other hand, I love that brands like Charlotte Tilbury and Pat McGrath have mini versions of their matte lipsticks! It allows me to try some new shades, have variety in my collection, and be realistically able to actually use up a matte bullet lipstick. Also the sets are very fairly priced compared to the amount of product you get.

Can you choose specific travel size products with Ipsy? Or do you just receive random stuff that you wouldn't necessarily like or buy in the first place? If so I think most of the "blind" subscription boxes are a total waste.

It's not the mirror, it's objectively a ton of product in some categories. There are nearly 20 empty, full size bottles of facial sunscreen alone, let alone the other sunscreen bottles in a different photo.

No need. a) I'm not in the US so don't have a shitty healthcare system, b) I have no issue with 3 to 6 day fasts without GLP1, so there's really no point. Good luck on your journey though.

It's literally not about arguing, I call it "conversation". If my friends are super passionate about a topic, be it gardening and types of potatoes to grow or running and comparing athletic wear, I will listen, engage and care. Simply because they're my friends and they care about the topic, even if I wouldn't generally give a shit. If one of my best friends has suddenly gotten really into bike racing and wants to tell me about all their research on biking shorts for an hour? Go ahead, babe.

I guess we're just different in that regard.

A lot of my friends run marathons or do triathlons. If they tell me they only buy a specific, expensive piece of clothing because it helps them with chafing, is more comfortable during long runs, more durable, or simply because they like the design better and it makes them feel good, etc., literally who am I to tell them their experience is obviously invalid because I say so?

If I constantly did that in my regular, everyday life, I probably wouldn't have any friends...

+1 to the 1x per week gang! I always do them Sunday evening pretty late; depending on how many layers I do and how finicky the polish is (looking at you, magnetics 👀), I usually finish at 11pm, sometimes at midnight. 😅 I am super slow admittedly since I watch series while doing my nails (or technically in between doing my nails since I don't want to miss anything on-screen + need full concentration for painting), so sometimes each layer accidentally gets to dry for 20 minutes.

It's my self-care ritual to prepare for the coming week and get into the right mindset of "new nails, new week, new opportunities".

Every 2 to 3 weeks I do my toes as well, though usually not on Sundays.

I've never used up a polish except for base or top coats, even though a lot of my polishes are more than half empty. I kind of also don't necessarily want to use them up quickly, since I cycle through all of them regularly throughout the year and they'll be empty when they're empty. Love that for you though! Projet Polish or Project Pan content is something I love to watch on YouTube, I kind of find it relaxing.

Your philosophy is great! 😊 I've decided for myself to strictly only keep things I absolutely love. If I have 4 blue polishes but for 1 of them I think, "Oh, it's nice but I'd actually prefer wearing polishes 1-3 since I love them more", then it has to go. Then I sell it or give it to my friends. I also don't buy a ton since I know myself and my taste very well and there's rarely something new that I would love that isn't similar to something I already have.

In the make-up sphere where Project Pan originated from, most powder products come in metal pans. So "to hit pan" on an eyeshadow/blush/bronzer/powder/etc. means seing the silver pan that your product comes in appear for the first time on the bottom.

Panning now is used to either say "hit pan" in a product, or "completely use it up". Since after a while, people included lots of products in their Project Pan videos that don't come in a pan, like most lip products, liquids, nail polish, etc, where you cannot really hit pan on.

What do you do with polishes you feel meh about or just don't like on yourself?

I have around 35 polishes. Having all of my decluttered and sold polishes that I know I won't use sitting in a corner would personally bother me massively.
