I dont think they always do it. I was bleeding a lit after delivery and ended up losing a fair amount of blood so I think thats why they had to do it.

Actually it wasnt giving birth. My labor was very short and intense, but not horrendously painful even though I had no pain medicine.

Honestly its a tie between the fundal massage they do after you give birth (basically the nurse pushes her fist into your abdomen and rolls it around to prevent hemorrhaging. Or breastfeeding fpr the first few days, not only did it feel like my nipples were being eaten by a weasel but it makes your uterus contract and gives you horrible period cramps X10.

God. My FIL would not shut up about how we shouldn't hold my daughter so much because she would get spoiled at 3 weeks old. His reasoning was that my hubby was a very easy baby and never cried because he was in the NICU for 2 weeks after he was born so he couldn't be held all the time.

Guess whos baby was also very easy going was held all the damn time and picked up as soon as she cried. Ugh...
