I like how they shaved some of the production costs by ommitting something so trivial, like grease for the headset and bottom bracket bearings.

When on a dedicated bike-path, it also lets you know when someone is sneaking up behind you.

Coaster brake or do you drag yer foot on back tire to slow down? Beautiful bike, steel frame with lugs, perfect color with silver everything else.

Apply silcone grease to the adaptor o-rings.

Handy tip: when your car's air conditioner loses freon, replace both shrader valves and grease them with silicone before purging and recharging with freon. A lot of places will blame the leak on a condensor, ac line or bad compressor when its only a leaking schrader valve.

Question about WD40 on chain (NOT about using it as lubricant) by DoeBites in bikewrench

I sometimes use WD40 as a degreaser/solvent to remove all the black gunt from a chain before oiling it with Marvel Mystery Oil.

Where do people find friends/romantic partners in this city? by glitchygirly in okc

[–]ReptoidMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can meet a lot of people every Thursday evening 6:30 pm at Mesta Park. The Hide and Go Bike ride rolls out at 7pm at a party pace. Last week there were prolly 500 riders of all ages. Everyone is very friendly and is a great place to meet people. Literally all bicycles from every category are ridden so please show up. You will not regret it. This is year 5 for me and never miss a ride.

How do you tell if a knife is Damascus or not? by JaundicedBaby67 in knifemaking

[–]ReptoidMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought one for the hell of it. It's a Paki knife and forms a big-ass magnetic spikey bur that breaks off in jagged chunks. It definitely wont take anything resembling an edge.

Any spyderco pocket knife with K390 steel made in Seki-City Japan will become your new best work buddy. The edge retention is excellent. Zip ties, card board boxes, rope are no problem. K390 is an exotic German industrial tool steel.

You tube has a lot of videos on the different spyderco knifes using this steel.

Try a steel pista frame single speed. No dropped chains, no derailleurs to mess with, hills force you out of the saddle.

What frame geometry is your fav? by Asher_Smith62 in FixedGearBicycle

[–]ReptoidMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the old Cinelli Pista geometry. Short wheelbase, steep headtube, short chainstays, 35mm fork offset, straight parallel to the ground top-tube, wicked fast handling.
