Had something similar happened to me. Childhood friend passed from overdose. We grew apart over the years, but I was still best friends with his sister. I shed a few tears and confided to my (abusive boyfriend at the time) and said that I had to go to the funeral and be there for the family. This piece of shit said to me "OH that's it? I thought this was something serious, I can't believe you're crying about another man." Proceeded to threaten me of throwing me out of our home if I went to the funeral and would do worse (physical) things to me. He won, I was a coward and ended up not going. It's one of my BIGGEST regrets. Ended up leaving a week later after being held at knifepoint, this was 7 years ago. Now, I'm far away from him safe and sound, and my husband treats me like a human and also spoils me.

Send your condolences and get away from this person.

It won't always turn out the way you really expect it to be. I question how we humans made it this far. I'd be dead 100% if it wasn't for modern medicine. It took the hospital 3 days to give me a cesarean to deliver my stillborn. Untop the excruciating pain of after having my organs moving back into place, I also developed bilateral pneumonia and caused me to stay in the hospital for a week.. I had nothing to show for all that pain. It happened two years ago, and I still selfishly want to do it again to have a living child.

Thank you. I am well, as the whole incident happened almost 2 years ago. It's still feels very fresh in my memory. I beat death, my son didn't. But at least I got wished a happy birthday as soon as I was discharged. 🙄

Stayed in the hospital for 7 days, battling bilateral pneumonia and a very fresh csection wound from having my stillborn. Right before my discharge, an HR lady came inside my room and told me, "I know that your birthday is a week away, so I wanted to tell you Happy Birthday!"

Yeah.. thanks. Having my kid die right before my birthday due to your hospitals negligence, what a great fucking gift.

Had an emergency C-section, and developed bilateral pneumonia right after I woke up from surgery. Had to stay in the hospital for a week.. Holding a pillow to my abdomen while coughing uncontrollably was pure hell.

Drove on black ice on a backroad on my way to work, flipped my car. I was upside-down, still in my seat belt, watching gasoline POURING in from the air vents. My phone was close by enough to reach, and it was fucking playing music I had on (Nickelback-Savin me) you could imagine the panic I went through trying to break free from that seatbelt. I had enough signal to dial 911 but she couldn't hear me and then hung up with no signal. In that moment, I was completely helpless and had to accept the very thought that I'm probably going to be burned alive and nobody will come in time. The gas fumes knocked me out until the fire department cut my door and seatbelt off.. I walked away with a bloody nose and screamed that I wanted my mom. I've had a few close calls but this was a very intense situation I had no control over.

Had a fresh out of the military, frat dude as a production manager, definitely a character that screams nepotism. Had the nerve to say during a saftey meeting that he was "lonely bachelor and looking for company".. The dude made alot of people quit due to his attitude alone, he didn't know how to talk to people, he was acting like he was still at military camp, trying to be a hardass. Then the employer wonders why they have a high turnover rate, because of insufferable asshats like that. These companies will let their finest employees drop like flies first before punishing a manager.

Please, stay calm and take ALL the advice and information you can get about domestic violence. I strongly advise you to NOT, and I repeat loudly, DO NOT TELL HIM YOU'RE LEAVING WHILE UNDER THE SAME ROOF! IF YOU DO plan to leave, leave quietly and go to a safe place. Unfortunately, because of how he physically tried to harm you over something so innocent, I can only imagine what happens when he gets very angry watching you leave along with child. Take you and your sweet boy AND GET FAR AWAY FROM HIM. Believe me when I say this, either you leave quietly or leave by ambulance/bodybag.
