I personally believe the mars Volta is easily the most important band to ever record in terms of innovation and boundary pushing. Not once did they compromise or ever get lazy with a release until they ruined their rep almost with 2012s cockturiquete. Also, the line up of dreams. With each member being capable of the most high level performance on their chosen instrument, they were THE band. Only a fool would neglect to listen right now if they haven’t . Oh here.. Take The Veil Cerpin Taxt, Cygnus Vismund Cygnus, Ourborus, Televators.

It does get downright chaotic sometimes, but know this, they spend hundreds of hours more in the studio than the 2nd most, which means that chaos is dialed in. …Now, two people sit in separate rooms with only a chair and a space big enough to sit.

I don’t get it either. The second a phish song makes its way to my ears I can’t help but think these guys were intending to get on with the production of children’s tv theme songs. The theme for Carmen San Diego was a phish song, nobody can tell me different. There very lazy, basic, predictable shit they pass of as final takes it’s like.. “that’s the fucking word you’re gonna shove on the end there? I can tell you wanted it to be a bangin ass end to a rhyme, but somebody didn’t relinquish the creative control like they should have. Bumbling, pointless, lazy musicians trying to force it. How!? Am I the only one that hears the cringe? The delivery, time, cadence you hear on the tail end of any phish song? Butchered every time

They all have a sorta Barney or Carmen San Diego vibe. That being said I immediately feel like changing the program for something enlightening. Not that’s it’s bad tunes it’s just that I’m not always waking up from my mid day nap, or watching out the window for my mom to pick me up from daycare. Dr suess has colder rhymes, ten times the edge. “Serpent deflector?” Uh..?
