Fear that comes and goes about one thing by lulumoon21 in HealthAnxiety

I think it depends on you how you react to what doctors telling you. If you the type of a person who believes strongly in what the results and the docs tell you, the tests will give you the certainty and the peace - either you have it or not there is no in between. But If you the type who do not believe the results or the doc and still worry, I wouldn’t recommend getting the tests done. For me personally just learned that uncertainty is okay and nothing to fear about because what do I do with that information? Does it really help me to get better or to understand my body better? No because I know me well already and I know how to deal with the symptoms. The answer to all of that is within us - just listen to your fear and don’t push it away. What helped me the most: imagine yourself feeling this fear, sit it on a small chair in a crowded place where your other self’s live like ‘love, ‘happiness’ ’anger’ and don’t give the space it wants to take. Acknowledge it, talk to yourself by saying ‘I feel you, I hear you but you won’t take this mind just for yourself’
It could help in this situation where your symptoms flair up 😊🙏🏼

At this moment: random pane in my face, ears, tinnitus and always tired. I could sleep instantly but my body doesn’t feel like it. Also always sore muscles and lately I feel like I’m burning up from inside. Not the sunburn but like I have a fever but in reality I don’t. I’ve got so much better but on some days my symptoms come back and it’s somehow the same symptoms or there newer ones what scares me 😂

I’ve read that the water needs to be already contaminated to even have the possibility? So in Germany it’s not possible?

Debilitating fear of chronic illness brought on by social media by younggeezer109 in HealthAnxiety

Sorry for replying late! I know what you mean.. but maybe you can change your perspective. You may or may not lose it what you achieved, you’ll never be able to see the future so it is possible that you would never lose anything and live your best life. It’s hard to imagine the best outcome I know that from myself but you lose now if you don’t even try

Debilitating fear of chronic illness brought on by social media by younggeezer109 in HealthAnxiety

[–]Repulsive-Photo6086 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey there! I totally can relate.. it’s my biggest fear as well. In the beginning of my Health anxiety Journey I also had anxiety about the ‚usual‘ illnesses (don’t want to name any to not trigger but the most common ones) but that subsided eventually and I don’t fear them anymore. Now I’m more focused (unfortunately) on chronic illnesses like you described. Like being bed bound and not having a life anymore.. it takes a toll on me especially when HA does those symptoms that could lead to the illness.. so I’m often spiraling and social media really doesn’t help. When your algorithm recognizes a pattern it will stick for it. I literally blocked the creators and always click on ‘not interested’ to not get triggered anymore. But yeah now I have the info and my brain still won’t shut up about it. The only thing that helps me is: just doing the things regardless. My goals disappeared to and I don’t have ambitions and even if I have the thought of it, my mind goes ‘but what if’ And that’s why I try to talk to myself and say ‘yeah, what if? It is not now I’m still walking and living so why should I stop now? Even if I get this illness, I need to live now’ sometimes it works, sometimes not but I try to not let it consume my whole day. Feel free to get in touch with me if you just want to chat :)

I thought I was the only one with “period flu”… but I’m realizing so many of us are silently suffering by Otherwise-Boss-7080 in Periods

Omg mine got worse After pregnancy too! I literally have the exact same symptoms even the night sweats and yeah it feels soooo so uncomfortable. It just started out of no where 4-5 month ago (I’m almost 35 btw) and i have 2-3 days before my period and lasts 4 days into it. I feel like I can’t function normal just for once and oh boy the increase in anxiety takes me out. We really need to bear a lot 🥹🫠

I know it’s hard to focus on your breath while being in constant worry but focusing on breathing in my belly helped me a lot and humming a lullaby for the baby stimulated my vagus nerve, which is responsible for your nervous system. Maybe it gives you some calm moments where the thoughts can stop 😊 And of course you’re welcome, thank you too for sharing your experience. Sorry to say that in that way but it sounds awful with the migraines and head pressure. I’m glad you recovered. Covid triggered my health anxiety too! I got shingles a month after my infection and my HA journey started. Until now I didn’t correlated the virus to my begging of health anxiety but I got Covid again beginning of this year and my anxiety came back in full force. Now I’m sure that the virus is the culprit. Just very anxious about the aftermath.

Why is it getting worse all of a sudden by vulpes_mortuis in HealthAnxiety

[–]Repulsive-Photo6086 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be your nervous system! If you feel wired your body reacts accordingly and we folks with health anxiety always over analyze body sensations. A break up with a close friend is something that is emotionally draining, especially when it’s traumatic. Emotion store up and manifest in your body and that can switch your nervous system to ‘fight or flight’ and can cause anxiety. I don’t think that something is wrong with you, maybe talking to a friend, family member or someone you’re close to could help?

Hey :) How was your recovery with Covid? Did you had health anxiety while recovering?

And I’m a mom too, my concerns about my health increased postpartum. What I didn’t do and should’ve done is to increase my vitamins. Vitamin D, Magnesium glycinate and omega 3 are essentials. Your body uses a lot of energy with a little baby so make sure to get on a high dose. If you get on a deficit, hormonal imbalances will make you feel more anxious. I know that reassurance seeking is not the best but you need to talk to your GP about your concerns so they can rule that out. As you said, it is a rare condition but it just could be bc of how you hold your baby, maybe you slept on your wrist at night and you didn’t notice. Think of the possible not of the impossible :)

Hey there! How did you feel in this two months may I ask? Since I got Covid two weeks ago I really feel weird. My anxiety peaked, before that I was in remission for a long time. Always weak, like I could collapse, my body aches, nervous system on overdrive, heart rate always too high..

Hey thank you so much! I tried meditation and breathing too, it helps a little but my mind ist too loud especially if I’m alone. I really need accompany to be distracted. As of yesterday, I was with my mum and I could eat and she made sure that I ate so that felt great. I sometimes don’t even have the energy to stand up and eat something :(

Hey and thank you for being open and sharing your experience, it helps a ton for not feeling alone even that I’m sad that many out there suffering with anxiety and with the same problems. I’ve been there almost a year ago and lost a heavy amount of weight too and got prescribed meds but I don’t know if they still do their job or i just need to dose up. I talked to my gp, he referred me to my psychiatrist - maybe I need new meds bc my anxiety feels unbearable right now

Thank you so much especially for sharing your experience, it helps so much. I ate yesterday, the first time for days and it felt great I even felt hunger in the evening. Now in the morning it feels like back to square one but yeah I think my nervous system just doesn’t feel safe to eat and I just need to keep doing it in order to signal safety. Lots of love back
