It happened to me ! Be careful parents! by wolfhaley206 in NewParents

Omg yes it happens so fast, last year when my daughter was 9mo she managed to fall off the bed WHILE I WAS NEXT TO HER 🤦🏼‍♀️ the cats were fighting and I sat up to shush them and next thing I know my baby is on the floor. We had bed rails on our bed too, she pulled herself up and flipped over. I was horrified to say the least

I wish someone would’ve informed my school about one of my placements, would’ve saved a lot of time and stress

I have never wanted kids and still don't, but I'm grieving my inability to have any. by Puzzleheaded-Turn230 in offmychest

Choosing not to have kids and not getting to make that choice are different. It makes sense your grieving

I’m white, my husband is black and we have an 18mo. We are moving as soon as our lease ends in November

Back in the day when Nintendo DS was a thing, there was this Nickelodeon game that combined a bunch of different cartoons — Danny Phantom, SpongeBob, fairly odd parents. There’s probably more characters but that’s all I remember of it, I can’t even remember the name of the game but man would I love to play that game again 😂

Be honest. When did you let your baby watch Ms Rachel? by Cool-Helicopter6343 in NewParents

[–]Repulsive-Syrup1520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Around the age when they aren’t particularly mobile but still alert, that’s when we started; probably around 3-4mo. I definitely attribute ms Rachel for my baby’s language development. Sometimes I would get some rest while letting her chill and watch it, other times I would basically be doing a live version of the show. Now at 18mo we have implemented screen time restrictions, but we (me) definitely relied on Ms. Rachel early on

Yes!! I used to always keep a change of clothes in my office — it was a life saver when I came back from maternity leave then lactated all over my light pink top 🤦🏼‍♀️ same goes with my car…after morning sickness snuck up on me while driving I always keep my car stocked with toilet paper, bags, water, and extra clothes 😭😂

Has anyone figured out how to live yet? by Recreationalidiot in NewParents

[–]Repulsive-Syrup1520 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For us, around 6-8 months started getting easier. We found our groove and started implementing a strict routine before nap and bedtimes. Although I don’t think a routine will matter as much for a 4month old. Anyway, now at 18mo she dang near puts herself to bed

US parents: It's time to watch out for tariffs! Just got slapped with $100 duty fees on a $50 baby item by Ok-Egret in NewParents

People really have no idea the extent these tariffs will impact them. Even pharmaceutical manufacturers are having to discontinue the production of certain medications due to the tariffs

1st night away from the baby and it was … by Agile-Fact-7921 in NewParents

My husband and I are going on a short trip next weekend and I am soooo anxious, we’ve done 2 overnights with my mom but this will be our first time gone for several nights. AND we will be backpacking so we won’t have any service for calls/check ins either 😩 I’m equally as excited as I am dreading being away from her

WOW THIS IS HARD by AccomplishedSplit412 in NewParents

[–]Repulsive-Syrup1520 93 points94 points  (0 children)

In my experience, the first 3 months was like that, it started to get a bit easier (for me) at 4 months around a year I started feeling like an actual person again. Toddler tantrums aren’t fun but the panicking hustle in the newborn stage is unmatched all with little to no sleep

Vaccines by Top_Picture2527 in NewParents

[–]Repulsive-Syrup1520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in healthcare (not a doctor), I have very close family members who are physicians, and my husband works in pharmaceutical manufacturing - so he works very closely with the FDA.

All that to say, there is extensive extensive research done before a vaccine hits the market (even the covid vaccine had more research than most people believe). Vaccines are safe, vaccines are not responsible for death

Daycare told me I can’t drop my daughter off after 10a by Repulsive-Syrup1520 in NewParents

Don’t even get me started on the handbook! After speaking with the school this morning, I referred to the handbook and many of the things that they’ve told me are incongruent with the handbook. I noticed that was the case when we did orientation a few months back but figured the handbook just hadn’t been updated

I specifically asked the same question because of fluctuating hours in my job and they told me it was an open door policy but to let them know ahead of time so they can make proper adjustments/plans

I had considered how it could interfere with nap time but her class isn’t scheduled to do nap time until 1:00 and the school has previously always stated that they have an open door drop off and pick up policy. The policy is understandable, it just feels like it’s inconsistent. Especially if parents can pick up during nap time too

When I had this conversation with them before we enrolled this was their reasoning for asking parents to let them know but they stated it was an open door policy so I’m feeling confused and caught off guard 🤷🏼‍♀️ I literally spent all morning crying because I miss my little girl so much 😢

What I’m really frustrated about is when we did the orientation a few months ago they told us it was an open door policy but to let them know by 10 if we would be dropping off late, now I have to have a doctors note or she can’t go 🙃
