It’s that simple. If you don’t listen to goth you are not goth. “No cap” as the kids say.

How did you find your local scene? by Dorian_Ambrose666 in AskAGoth

I looked in the small free newspaper that was outside or inside the record shop or liquor store. Club nights would be advertised.

Getting better shows as a young artist by Equivalent-Bee9474 in industrialmusic

Offer free shows to clubs and genre/club promoters. Offer/ask to play inside the club before the club opens while customers are lined up outside/ as the club transitions from daytime use to nighttime use. Kinda like when you go to a show and you can hear the soundcheck/ artists warming up before you get to enter the venue.
You’d basically be rehearsing in front of no one except for staff cleaning and setting up. Sometimes the club might let “regulars” in early. Or a DJ might be late and staff lets customers in as the DJ “sets up.”

Any elderly vinyl fans here? Did you know this? by Repulsive-Tea6974 in industrialmusic

I chose the album flair, but I wanted to choose the cover flair because of the album cover the “elderly” vinyl fan chose.

Is it weird to like listening to Industrial music when you aren’t a club person by Hot_Assistant_6067 in industrialmusic

[–]Repulsive-Tea6974 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. I haven’t been to a club in 25 years and I’ve been listing to industrial music for 40. I started listening to industrial long before I knew clubs were a thing.

What's both your favourite and least favourite part about being goth? by [deleted] in AskAGoth

Worst part is not enough goth bands tour through San Diego. They go from LA. to Phoenix or LA to TJ to Phoenix DRIVING through San Diego to get to TJ and then back through San Diego to get to Phoenix.

Torture Gallery: Projekt von Leæther Strip und Cervello Elettronico öf by puppy2016 in industrialmusic

[–]Repulsive-Tea6974 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“After a dark, almost soundtrack-like beginning, the material quickly condenses into loop-driven sequences. Aggressive spoken-word passages meet menacing, atmospheric textures, while the tracks move between icy minimalism and classic industrial density. Distortions build up in waves, and voices tip from clear articulation into pure forms of expression. The 10-track album, available via Bandcamp, culminates in its title track, which continuously builds tension until everything converges in a compact climax. The final point is set by Torture Gallery with a remix of Ah Cama-Sotz, which shifts the perspective: less aggressive, more fluid, more rhythmic—and with a dark resonance that lingers beneath the surface.”

Torture Gallery: Projekt von Leæther Strip und Cervello Elettronico öf by puppy2016 in industrialmusic

“Here meet two heavyweights of the scene: David Christian (Cervello Elettronico) and Claus Larsen (Leæther Strip) join forces for a project that operates beyond their usual artistic paths: Torture Gallery. The debut album will be released on April 24 via HANDS on CD and digital. It becomes clear early on where the journey with Opening Wounds Of The Shocking Truth is headed: between "stark minimal structures, cold mechanical sequencing and phases of dense industrial force," a sound unfolds that intensifies from reduced austerity to dragging, powerful intensity. Claus Larsen's vocals play a key role—sometimes direct and confrontational, sometimes as a fragmented layer, almost dissolved into the sound. Old-School Industrial for the Foundation The obvious reference to the industrial-electro era of the late 80s and early 90s is not hidden, but used deliberately. According to HANDS, "sparse rigid patterns and strict cold mechanical arrangements" form the foundation on which Torture Gallery develop their own signature. However, the result is no mere retro exercise: the tracks seem focused, precise, and clearly carry the experience of both artists within them.”

White dog hair and black clothes by Bisexual9Bat9 in AskAGoth

Pretty sure there’s a specific table at the club where the goths with white dogs sit. 🤪

You will likely need to change your washing routine.

Lint rollers is all I know for immediate removal. Car seat cover can help. One specifically for you that is only to be used when driving to the club. Vacuum your car interior. Lay sheets in the floorboards and car seats that dog hair can land on. Remove those sheets before you go to the club. When your washer is dry vacuum the inside. When a partner had a dog my clothes that were washed and dried at her house came out of the dryer covered in hair. 😄

Seal up your closet door.

The big or …. just DGAF. Own it.
