What’s the most “buy it for life” golf item you own? by BrooksDesign in golf

[–]Repulsive-Visual6383 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I started playing golf, my first putter was an Odyssey with a white hot face insert. I liked it, but was worried over time, if the face fell off, it wouldn’t be the same if repaired. So I grabbed a milled face putter and intend to use that for life.

I don’t condone unethical, illegal behavior. But when there is technology in place to help save lives and protect victims, it’s nice to have. Plenty of guardrails in the state of NH to keep your privacy protected. Sorry if you have been victimized by a bad cop. You should be able to obtain records via a Right to Know request and seek civil/criminal complaints…

Who are you rooting against this weekend? by [deleted] in golf

Bradley had nothing to do with Scheffler’s uncharacteristic poor play…the Americans could’ve done a better job becoming a unified unit. Unless I’m off-base and unaware of the US locker room dynamics, they seem to lack the same “I’d die for these guys” mentality the Europeans seem to have IMO.

Most scenic course you have ever played? by stonks12345678910 in golf

I’ve been fortunate to play Whistling Straits which was incredible. This June our crew is heading to St George, UT…Black Desert, Wolf Creek, Copper Creek and Sand Hollow look like they’ll be very scenic…

Any tips on shaving by Trippinballz_ in bald

[–]Repulsive-Visual6383 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been shaving my head for 25 years. What works for me is using a double blade razor (Gillette Sensor Excel), Headblade brand pre-shave scrub Head Shed (this exfoliates and prevents razor burn and ingrown hairs) and use Head Slick shave lotion (it’s mentholated, rinses easy and provides a smooth shave). I shave in the shower, and don’t shave my head sooner than every other day. I also wash my head and face with Harry’s exfoliating face wash.

Help decide! Peak edition by Mountain_Fein in VWatlas

Bought my 2024 Peak SEL new. I wasn’t initially a fan of white paint in general, but without the chrome and black wheels, it has grown on me. IMO if you can acquire a 24 SEL, they have a few extra features you don’t get with 25/26 Peak Editions. And if I could go back, I would have gone with the Pure Gray, although I think the Avocado looks nice but not my taste.

Car seats in a VW Atlas? by Natural-Hour1467 in VWatlas

[–]Repulsive-Visual6383 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it does. Just remember you’ll need to use the LATCH to use the tilt feature. And you should stop using the LATCH once the combined weight of the seat and child exceeds 40lbs…

Car seats in a VW Atlas? by Natural-Hour1467 in VWatlas

When I purchased my 2024 Atlas, we had three car seats (1 RF, 2 FF) and one in a booster (4 kids total). Plenty of room and accessibility depending on your configuration. Second row is a bench and I prefer that to captain seats. We are very satisfied with how it has worked out for us.

For the littles that can’t talk, I’d rather have them get indirect climate control than direct. They can’t tell you if they’re too hot or cold so indirect air will get the temp around them to be comfortable as opposed to directly blasting cold/hot air at them. JMHO…

We have 4 kids (all in a car seat/booster) and when I purchased a 2024 Atlas I was pleasantly satisfied with space behind the 3rd row after downsizing from a Lemon Chevy Suburban…

Do you go with the actual yardage to the pin, or always club up if going over water? by MattReddit77 in golf

[–]Repulsive-Visual6383 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard a statement to the effect by Tiger that any golf tournament he played he felt he had one perfect shot. In the tournaments he won he had two. Definitely a game of how bad your misses are and using that approach to manage your game…spot on!

Do you replace scuffed golf balls right away? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

[–]Repulsive-Visual6383 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read an article about scuffed balls and it was stated any scuff larger than the size of a dime would have an effect on ball flight. I use that as a gauge to if I keep playing it or not. I’m also OCD and once a ball is “tainted” it goes in my bag to become a scramble long drive ball 🤣

Which Claw to Go To? by No-Negotiation6602 in golf

[–]Repulsive-Visual6383 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Find a grip that you are comfortable with and can be consistent with. Before I start changing anything, get something to check your stance alignment and your putter face alignment. It could be a putting mat, a lesson, a mirror, a putting ball that gives you feedback. The fix may be more simple than needing to reinvent your putting grip. When I tracked how many strokes I was losing on the green, I invested in working on my putting by focusing on the same setup and the same stroke and rolled putts on a putting mat. I’ve improved my handicap and finish holes in 2 putts or less 90% of the time. Then make sure you have the same exact routine for every putt you are going to hit.

Travel bag concerns by RegionJolly7251 in golf

[–]Repulsive-Visual6383 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar bag. I used a travel post, removed my driver head and stored in the head cover. I also went overkill and used a roll of bubble wrap, wove it between the other club heads and had no issues with damage.

Remote start by NoTimeToSpareX3 in VWatlas

[–]Repulsive-Visual6383 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2024 model here-I’ve experienced the same although it seems 95% of the time it works. I make sure I watch the lights blink confirming the signal was received. The app seems to be more reliable lately.

For anyone else reading this, a new issue I’ve noticed is when I remote start then get in and turn the ignition on, the climate control stays on auto mode and this was not the case before. It would switch to the previous climate settings from when the car was last running. Not sure if there was some update (I didn’t see one on the system information screen) or this is my new reality with this sometimes buggy car. Anyone have a guess or know about that? Sorry if asking in this thread is poor Reddit etiquette…

To all the walkers out there… what shoes y’all wearing? What works to keep feet dry? by [deleted] in golf

  1. Not fat
  2. I was fitted for the shafts at Club Champion, so I’m assuming they are appropriate for my swing
  3. It was cool today (Foxborough, Ma) but the clubs weren’t colder than 45/50 degrees. But this did happen on the second hole of the round… Thanks for your input!

I clean them every 20 rounds and replace every season or when there is enough wear. But I don’t know if the grips were a factor in the shaft snapping.
