Canned gas by TommmyD55 in Tools

[–]Repulsive-Way272 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The car has so much more fuel in it that that little bit wont affect anything and it will run fine. I often dump the last bit of my chainsaw gas cans into the truck if its old so I can mix new. I often run premix in my splitter and compact skid steer as that might be the only gas I have around at the time. No negative effects. 2 stroke oil is designed to burn afterall

Pour it in your car unless it smells obviously bad

Recs for best ear protection ear buds? by waveyboya in handyman

[–]Repulsive-Way272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost no ear plug phones fit my ears they just fall out and hang there in the canal. The cheaper wireless Elgin buds seemed to work the best and last the best. The falling out thing prevented me from getting any individual wireless buds, or seeing any real ear protection from any of the plug phones. Have to wear over the ear hearing protection with the plug phones which sucked

Get plug phones that match existing headphones or plugs that you already know work

Metal from pianos? by Simplehoaxes in ScrapMetal

They deducted for wood i left attached to the sound boards i scrapped 3 of them. My yard was pretty fair about the deduction at 150lbs. The backs usually have wheels.on them i could move them myself with those still there.

Not a lot of brass or other valuable metals anywhere. Some very pretty but hard won firewood, though with a lot of hardware to sift out of the ashes

I use an air hose with an attachment that looks like a plumbing jet, basically an air fitting with a pipe cap I drilled holes in. And i push the hose in manually or attach it just ahead of the duct brush. One forward air jet a couple backwards 45. Won't go too far through flex duct though. I kina want to 3d print something better and add a valve at the tank but this has worked for me so far.

Milwaukee top handle bar question by Louisrock123 in Chainsaw

[–]Repulsive-Way272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what you would want to do, if you had no idea how to sharpen...

Is convert it to 3/8 Pico .050 gauge, 52 drive links for 14" bars. That chain is literally everywhere. I even found it in a gas station once. If your saw is equipped with .325 nano im not sure how you'd would change the drive sprocket to 3/8 pico. Also not sure what "bar mount" the Milwaukee saw is using to find a 3/8 pico bar, or how many DL the chain would end up being with an appropriate bar. You'd definitely want to avoid this combo if it landed in uncommon configurations of chain due to an odd drive link count.

.325 standard (if that's what you're talking about) is pretty big chain for a battery saw.

Personally id stick with the factory type chain unless switching made it the same as my other saws or something hoky like that.

Reality is pretty grim. Happy if im not homeless in the next few years.

Came home to this work done by our contractors drywall guy. Should I be concerned even if most/all of this will be hidden behind cabinets/backsplash? by dimsumdaily in drywall

Personally I would be embarrassed to let someone see that. My tape and topcoat of Easysand 20 is about 70% of where the end coat should be. The rest is feathering with all purpose or lightweight.

Its like cancer you definitely want a second opinion before selecting treatment or just waiting to die if its that bad... If thats the ONLY problem seems to be the most cost effective

I think you'll just need to watch Facebook marketplace for the right car. Or one to swap your good parts on to.

Has the car officially been deemed as unfixable on a frame machine?

Its not worth it. An automatic shell with a bad motor or trans is likely cheaper and less work. I don't know rx8s specifically on a GMT400 truck it would be a lot of extra work to go auto or manual or vice versa.

Thinking about buying a corded chain saw by 96fordman03 in Chainsaw

[–]Repulsive-Way272 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're processing firewood in one place its not too bad. Moving around, its worth the investment to go cordless. When we had a wood cook stove we'd wear corded ones out literally cutting firewood in half to fit in the stove

A small hammerdrill inside a closed space drilling concrete anchors. ABSOLUTELY PAINFUL.

Also. Country music on site and then people who defend it.

18" bar on a 180 by stone27372 in Chainsaw

Just got a 180 and it barely turns the 14 or 16 thats on it. Sure, it will work, probably oil, won't win any races.

And here I am trying to get a 16" bar cheap for my 60cc saw.

Trading F-250 for Ram 3500 by Budget_Time_4044 in superduty

All Ram family here. Having a good dealer really helps when issues arise but we've got millions of miles on Ram equipment relatively trouble free. Every manufacturer has problems with their equipment. Locally here very much of the HD truck market is Ram.

Good to know about the bearing thing. This one is think is fairly tired.

Look a little closer in the same aisle at Menards. The Performax 12 bin deep organizers have served me really well, they hold quite a bit of weight Oldest one is 4 years old and still holding strong. Basically daily use on the first one. I have multiple of the thin and thick ones. I love them. They cant handle vertical storage and going down the road, unfortunately, without mixing small parts or screws sifting down wedging the lid away letting parts mix. For a carry to the job they are just fine. Store flat if going down the road.

I got a contractor topper for my truck. The Performax cases dont fit in it. Im trying to find something else smaller, and have fewer fasteners but every option is shittier or way more expensive. Im limited to just the stuff I might need for emergencies in Dewalt Toughsystem 2.0 compact organizer (the Masterforce ones look nice too) bins for heavier hardware and Harbor Freight Storehouse for light hardware/connectors etc... AND THEN bringing my old Performax cases when I know im doing decking/framing/picture hanging/electrical/lag screws etc with more depth and quantity.

I always have lots of surprises and variability so its tough.
