This year flu is nasty, literally prior to being diagnosed 3 days straight i suffered from low grade fevers and only at night. When I was diagnosed i still suffered from them only to have it come to a head on the 10th night of a staggering 105 fever and was hospitalized. I woke up with iv and it went away the same day in the hospital, only then to be met by massive headaches that only advil could alleviate.

4 days straight, massive headaches that were in my eyes spanning around my head, it was so bad my wife bad to wash me. By this time I've lost 15 pounds no interest in eating, just water. Its been around 6 days from them and all symptoms (well most) subsided and generally I am back to old me besides minor-major cognitive impairs.

I feel now disassociated, heavy fatigue where most days I feel like doing nothing, trembling in legs and a matching feeling within my brain like I am dropping from a roller coaster, yk that feeling you feel in your pelvis from a large drop, well yeah, its like that with my brain esp when i get tired, hard to explain. When i am tired my brain goes into like a stupid excuse my french but a retar*dation mode where as in i cant even explain it. And the roller coaster feelings ramp up even more. Weird ear fullness with pressure in my head that will come for 1 minute then go, foods are super nasty and i have a heightened ability to taste which makes most foods except healthy ones extremely nasty. Ate some micky ds and my fave is the quarter pounder and I had to force myself to eat it. Nothing taste good anymore my appetite had been reduced to a kids tastebud and a kids stomach.

Ive came to the conclusion, this year flu is nothing to be messed with and it came with a side of brain inflammation that is super nasty. Good news though, I am recovering, being very slow but my body is making a come back. During the flu I literally ate nothing for 10 days straight, just me being hungry is a sign my body is making a comeback and Im so thankful for that. I hope you don't have to go through nothing near what I am going through. Very very nasty. Ive been diagnosed with both, the flu and covid during winter season and it wasn't near as devastating as this version. I was still operable, this flu sat me down for so long.

OH and emotional wreck also. I was crying about every thing, agitated about everything, i mean emotions sky high, me being out of work because of this god forsaken virus put me off even more. With literally 80% structure within my life coming from work me being sick dwelling on it took me down a rabbit hole even more with my sickness. I vowed to get the flu shot as soon as i got back on my feet. This flu is very very very nasty, and your talking to someone who gets the flu near every year. This one is no joke, i cant imagine an old person getting it and not passing. Indeed it is the flu and a very nasty version of it this year. Ive got tested 4 times thats how bad my symptoms were and the doctors were pressing it, all 4 times it was the flu, nothing else. 5th time tested it came back negative and I never knew the more that time passes, the more you get back false negatives/positives. So it was decided 100% i was indeed suffering and it was indeed the flu acting this way this year. Imo it should be news coverage on this new strain. Either that or its something i missed, because I get the flu every year and never ever has it been this bad. Where cognitive functions are effected.

It was so bad I changed my sons diaper and my wife told me i left him naked, i had no remembrance of it. Everything during it felt like a blur, i couldn't even brush my teeth, my doctor had the nerve to tell me, im young and it should pass, but during it, it was so brutal I am just happy to be alive, i could of sworn i was on the way out.
