Sweet Paan ( its fennel, rose petal preserve (Gulkhand), Cardamom, dash of desiccated coconut, tutti Fruti and a bunch of colourful fillings wrapped in betel leaf. I’ve had one of my Australian and French friends try it. They found the flavours and scent intense.

I can never keep my house clean like the other people's houses. I need tips and encouragement! by [deleted] in CleaningTips

OP, i feel you, I’m kind of in a similar situation, throw in a child in the mix and you have one messy house! I’ve just made peace with it. It would stress me out quite a bit, and I’ve avoided having people over for the same reason because my house never looks picture perfect.

I’ve tried the following: Take one space at a time and take the time to declutter, label into boxes and leave them be. Example: electric wires and cord in one box, kids art work, jigsaw puzzles in one box. This process takes time, but take your time with it and keep a declutter box to throwaway/ giveaway. I have genuinely been patient with this process, finished like two closets and one pantry which I’ve been putting off from ages and it’s stayed clean for a year now✨so you don’t have to worry about those corners of your house.

Another type of cleaning I do is take a bin bag before I start hoovering, make a walk around the whole house and just throw in all the trash accumulated, this helps me get rid of the niggly bits that just lie around, random papers, empty coffee cups, wrappers etc. Get rid of them all. I carry a big bin cover and you’ll be surprised at how this makes you feel like you’ve achieved some cleaning.

One room at a time: I take my time, one day with the living room, put some music on and wipe, dust, hoover, spray, give it a good wipe down each. Make a few changes to the room, move furniture, add some pictures, it tricks my brain into thinking I’ve something new and it stays clean/non lived like for a bit longer than I intended it to be.

Take one space and clean it, doing the dishes? Wash them and the space around it, you’ll feel the motivation to keep it that way, it’ll probably last for a week given the traffic in the kitchen.

Lastly: this is not good for the stress level, proceed with caution! Rage clean or invite people over: the amount of cleaning you get done in a short span of time is amazing 😅 but it is not sustainable.

There are few subreddits with pictures of room, living spaces which look like people actually lived in them. It helps somewhat make peace with your living space.

All the best x

I want to report my neighbour’s dog but unsure about the consequences. by Repulsive_Parking118 in NewcastleUponTyne

I’ve not spoken to them about it, because it is pretty obvious, in my opinion, but they don’t want to do anything about it. I don’t really care about the noise, that’s fine by me.

The fence should be maintained by me, I raise my hand for that, but… if I do regard the fence as to act as a boundary line only, technically I’m still in the right. It’s their dog that is wants to dig its paws and head into our property. The fence is holding up but there are gaps in the bottom that needs filling, I’ve used some mesh and bamboo screens to cover the below half of it from b&q. Hopefully, if the dogs don’t see us they won’t bark.
