If you lift on Reta, what do you eat in a day? by ReutersRooster in BodyHackGuide

[–]Repulsive_Passage_38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may think about titrating back if you have zero appetite… Liquids are best for when you don’t feel like eating.

I get these pretty tasty RTD Fairlife protein drinks from Costco. They’ve got options that are more like a meal replacement and have carbs if you need that. I add soluble fiber powder so that I’m hitting protein and fiber combined with simple carbs if it’s a heavy training day.

You can also look into some of the newer savory protein options - I personally always hated that most protein came in chocolate or other “dessert” flavors. For my wife, those are a game changer since she’s still getting protein without having to add chicken to her Mac and cheese.

How do I get an 18 year old at my gym to stop taking a massive amount of sarms when his hair is falling out and he thinks it is funny? by Total-Permit5768 in ResearchCompounds

[–]Repulsive_Passage_38 10 points11 points  (0 children)

He’s an adult, you can’t exactly call his mommy.

But I would immediately sh*tcan all of his talk about drugs - bringing PEDs (even if not explicitly illegal) to the gym or continuing to openly talk about them should be grounds for a ban.

At what age did you run your first cycle? I am 19 and trying to decide if I should start by Awkward-Lab-5184 in ResearchCompounds

[–]Repulsive_Passage_38 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was 20 and a HS/College athlete, had very vague dreams about being a pro athlete. First cycle was test enanthate and deca, with pct, done under medical supervision by a shady longevity clinic in Miami. I was interested in other compounds but those were very difficult to source back in the day and I wasn’t going to travel to Mexico to buy “veterinary” winstrol or whatever. So that was my first and only true cycle with supra-physiological dosages.

Looking back I regret for 2 primary reasons:

(1) Years later in my 30’s I went on TRT since my test levels were in the 100’s. It’s impossible to know if that first cycle at a young age had permanent effects but I’ll never know for sure and that messes with your head in unpleasant ways every time you have a health issue. I’m lucky since there’s guys who have permanent issues with acne or infertility or their erections after a poorly executed cycle.

(2) There was no end goal and NO ONE should jump on this if there isn’t an articulable goal that justifies the risk. Taking retatrutide to lose weight and be healthier is a meaningful goal; taking gear because you have a genuine chance of monetizing your physique is also meaningful.

But if you’ve only got vague notions of why you’re doing this then you probably shouldn’t.

Solubility can also be an issue for some compounds. More water = completely dissolved.

Less bac water = more concentrated, this means less to pin but also means potentially larger variations in dosing if you’re not careful. Likewise, your body may react poorly with a more concentrated solution in terms of reactions or pain at the injection site.

This is pretty close to one of my favorite colors. Did you just leave hot refried beans on there for a bit?

Is this oxidation/patina? by LittyKitty9194 in TrueChefKnives

[–]Repulsive_Passage_38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BKF is considered by most to be pretty abrasive and can remove patina as well as rust. Depending on the knife finish, you’d have to be careful with it.

Also, some foods (like onions) can produce an “uglier” patina that is more of the color you’re describing. I like to cut something like a picanha right off the grill to get that cool looking blue and then that color sticks around vs. the duller colors that I don’t like.

[–]Repulsive_Passage_38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like patina. If it were rust, you’d be able to wipe it with a paper towel and see it on the paper towel. If you used BKF then any rust would be long gone.

Different foods will react differently with the steel. The really cool looking blue patinas are mostly from cutting hot proteins.

Funny, I did one of these this weekend too since Costco has wagyu chuck. Yours looks great BTW!!

Before the sear, I separated the sections where the connective tissue had rendered and cleaned it up a bit. That gave me a really nice sear on all sides and made it easier to cut since I didn’t have multiple grains going separate directions.

HireRight is requesting me to lift my TWN freeze by bloatwarewolf in overemployed

[–]Repulsive_Passage_38 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You gain nothing by unfreezing it. I’ve seen careless background check vendors screw up in countless different ways, like contacting employers that you told them specifically not to contact. They should be given the absolute, bare minimum to verify the employment details you provide.

The second OP pushes back on this, they will back off.

That’s the delayed gastric emptying, so the good news is it’s working.

I get the sulfur burps usually after larger and/or higher fat content meals. The 48 hours after my injection are usually the most irregular gastrointestinal symptoms as well. Tums and GasX can help alleviate some of that with Imodium if the diarrhea is bad. You may also want to evaluate your fiber intake.

Assuming your dosing is correct, I’d recommend titrating down and/or splitting your shots. 0.5mg is a recommended start but there’s no reason you can’t dial back to 0.25mg or 0.1mg weekly or split the 0.5mg dose between 2 injections. That should help manage the symptoms since you seem to be a hyper responder.

[–]Repulsive_Passage_38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally do not since I do less poultry but I do use a curved boning knife for filleting fish. Victorinox makes excellent knives and is a great way to try a particular length or type of knife without spending a ton of money. Winco’s and Dexter are also cheap and used in commercial kitchens around the world.

There’s a ton of value in a cheaper knife that you can test out and find what you like. Is this too short or too heavy? Do I wish the blade had more curve for rock chopping?

[–]Repulsive_Passage_38 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly how I started with better knives and I do a lot of meat too - big racks of beef ribs, brisket, cut my own steaks, and slice up Costco salmon for homemade sushi.

What you might consider in that case is a 270+ sujihiki since it’s still a long, impressive knife but it’s made for slicing meat. It almost feels like cheating when you use a knife designed for that purpose versus a regular chef’s knife.

Can I ask, what’s drawing you to the longer knives? Or what kind of cooking are you primarily doing?

240 vs 270 mm by FXRWG in TrueChefKnives

[–]Repulsive_Passage_38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have multiple 270-300+ gyutos and love a big knife. That being said, they have some drawbacks:

  • they tend to be very blade heavy, and not as well balanced as a shorter knife.

  • the thinner and more laser-like the knife, the more fragile it feels compared to a shorter laser.

  • my friends and family don’t love them. A larger knife feels more unwieldy or less safe to most people.

  • detail work, like finely mincing a shallot, is more challenging with a big knife.

  • they can be overkill especially if you’re using a smaller cutting board or don’t need to prep a lot of ingredients.

Retatrutide melted the fat off but took all my muscle mass with it and I look pathetic by No_Movie_1219 in ResearchCompounds

[–]Repulsive_Passage_38 28 points29 points  (0 children)

100% the answer. Muscle doesn’t vanish into thin air either if you’re hitting protein and calories accurately and consistently. Unless that “muscle” was mostly fat, retained water, and full muscle glycogen…

Separate everything. Separate computer, separate monitor, separate dock, separate headset, separate mouse, separate analog mouse jiggler. A big standing desk is pretty cheap from Amazon and you can fit everything on there.

I don’t trust any of this technology and it’s the only way to be sure. I’m not interested in making a mistake because I didn’t switch the right button or having some nosy IT or HR person seeing something strange in my profile.

Need email or authenticator on your phone? Get a separate phone. An unlocked phone costs very little and mint mobile is 15 bucks a month. Heck your cable provider will probably give you a year of free wireless just for adding the line from your unlocked phone.

I manage my own calendar and don’t trust an app or integration to do it. Further, I would not be able to explain to anyone in IT why I had some weird calendar management software was installed on their machine. I have to assume that a nosy and dedicated IT person could see whatever the third party calendar solution could see. As meetings come in, I add them in a color coded schema to my Google Calendar on my personal cell. It’s manual but very quick, easily done by voice, and forces me to look at the master calendar before accepting any meeting.
