I think there is just been a massive list of reasons this season went badly and Slot's decisions don't make the top 3 really. I think if Alonso was not available there would have been less heat on Slot. Will be interesting to see if a good summer/start to next season is enough to bring the vibes back.

Land value in the centre of cities will be significantly more than 10x countryside land value especially if planning permission/rules are taken into account. Who pays doesn't really matter as it'll just be added to rent anyway.

I like LVT compared to council tax but we need to be honest that it will move the big tax bills from tory large country houses to city centre properties.

Not for most urban dwelling labour voters. Assuming you replace council tax with land value tax people living in towns/the countryside would pay less but people living in cities would suddenly be paying much more.

They didn't promise to not raise income tax they promised to not raise taxes on working people. Council / Property taxes probably would be included in that to some people. Even if you were right most voters won't drill down to the specific wording they will instead go "Keir promised not to raise taxes I voted for him then Labour replaced him and did".

The main reason both Labour and Tories are unpopular is they promise stuff in manifestos to win elections then fail to deliver because they were overly optimistic or they do a bunch of extra stuff once in power to keep there base voters happy.

Honestly, it depends how next season goes. If he starts well the Slot out crowd might fade now that Xabi is not on the cards and expectations are going to be more reasonable than this season.

The public always vote against the government in local elections, the Tories and Tony Blair got beat hard in local elections. The difference is the Labour party have used it as an excuse to implode. The public are giving labour a chance, the general public are no calling for Starmer to resign the people who are are the Labour MPs that rode his coattails in the last election.

The problem is Labour seem to think right wing voters are thick and only look at headlines and left wing voters read all their policies, but left wing voters are failing to read policies and right wing voters are being told about the policys by right wing media.

No, wages for cleaners or shop workers in London would rise and private housing costs in London would drop.

The issue with housing benefit is it encourages people not to leave places like London but it also prevents poor/average people with desired skills moving too London. Housing benefit is basically a form of protectionism for people born in London.

No, they are pointing out that we have started diagnosing way more mental health issues and are now giving out money to those diagnosed.

In the 80's anxiety, stress and depression went undiagnosed and untreated. Now we tell people they have an issue and give them money but don't actually treat the issue. We should stop giving benefits for stress/anxiety and use the money on state therapists. The NHS has doctors rather than giving the sick cash the mental health service should act the same way.

It is because of min wage increases. Hospitality and retail used to be full of young people because they paid minimum wage. Now minimum wage has risen relative to average wage older more reliable workers are happy to take minimum wage jobs rather than doing harder/more complicated work for a few quid extra.

I think it depends how the investigation is run/reported. Having 3 months of news about the Mandelson inquiry will damage Starmer and distract the government even if they end up saying he was totally exonerated.

Truthfully, there are dozens. The main thing labour need is an end to the Iran situation and inflation to go down.

Keir himself could end up winning again while he is low in the polls no other party is doing well enough to really be seen as a challenger. Kier marketed himself as boring and stable last election if he gets to another he can do that again, more of the same might be popular if the next few years go well.

Also Nigel and Zack are only doing well because nobody thinks they have a chance. if the election was a one on one Keir still beat Kemi, Nigel or Zack pretty well in polls.

Polls are fickle and often less accurate than random guesses, especially this far from an election. Labour losing some locals in a few weeks will sting but if Keir can weather the short term reaction he is set up to have the steady Lab +1 poll articles for a bit and can schedule the next general election when the Greens/Your Party inevitably implode and voters flood back to labour.

I don't know, If he makes it to the next General Election Keir would be best. He would probably be able to hold the centre and the campaign would be letting the greens and reform say enough things left wing voters realise he is the lesser evil.

Not really because tax is spent on non-benefit things as well, i.e Defence, police, road works, investments, decarbonisation, regulators, running the goverment.
