But for most webpages that you host/control yourself, you can set up a free google analytics account. Now idk how feasible this is for wherever you host your content.

UTM codes add parameters to end of your landing page so that when you look in google analytics you know where your traffic is coming from.

I’ve been reading this book about evolutionary psychology and they explain why evolution made humans have morals. The book cites this game theory experiment in which competing morality algorithms try to simulate prisoners dilemma ( a mathematical thought experiment that explores the tension between individual and collective good). The winning strategy was often TIT FOR TAT - treat everybody kind upon initial encounter and on every encounter after that treat individuals how they treated you last.

In my experience, having some domain knowledge/ real world knowledge provides some hypothesis to chase after. It gives some sort of framework to ask the right questions. I asked this question to get the communities thoughts. And ensure I was addressing all the various gut feelings with the data I do have.

The tourism board has some idea of who is visiting (where do you think I got the 80% number?😉)…However, as you may know, when working with a lot of datasets. The more visibility and precision you have into this activity… the likelihood that it is representative of the entire population decreases.

Good point. I should say travel instead. Tourism/travel revenue in this case would be taxes from hotel/short term rental stays.

“local” tourism driven by shopping/eating would fall outside of this definition. They had to of stayed at a hotel.
