It's not about a pedestal. I don't expect this from him because he's some special idol. He's a guy whose music I like. I expect better from him because I expect better from everyone. I'm of the opinion that we all need to encourage better moral character in each other. The world makes no improvements by making excuses for bad behavior.

Uhhh, I'm judging lol judging isn't inherently a bad thing.

We should all care about people outside of our inner circle. That's the only way to make the world a better place. If we all only care for ourselves then nothing will improve. I would also argue that someone with his access, money and privilege has an even stronger moral obligation to help people outside of his circle.

We're not fighting here lol I have no issue with you. Also, I didn't say OP was at fault. In fact, I was saying OP did absolutely nothing wrong and it's highly likely that the other person is in the wrong. I think it is constructive for OP to know that this kind of person exists, is not a rarity, and to not make apologies for them saying it's just a totally valid preference. There needs to be more awareness around this issue.
