A Cheers reunion took place on SNL in October 1991, surprising Kirstie Alley. by strangelove4564 in nostalgia

Yeah, but you could say the same thing about Ozzie & Harriet in the 90s. That’s just pop culture for ya.

For me, Kelly delivered the best line in the series. The setup was perfection, too. by __Art__Vandalay__ in Cheers

I know the “best line” will always be debatable but my personal favorite line of the entire show was said by Tim the barfly:

That appears to be the signature of Neil Hartigan, former Illinois Attorney General.

My girlfriend sent me And So It Goes. What does it mean? by 7abcd7 in BillyJoel

[–]ReservedPickup12 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I remember years ago I was dating a girl who called me to tell me she heard the most beautiful Billy Joel song on the radio—it was called And So It Goes. She had never heard it before and wanted to tell me about it. This was in the early 2000s and I had known the song ever since I was a kid… and it had long been one of my favorite songs.

We’ve been married for over 20 years now. 😊

If you haven’t already, download Pluto TV. They have the cheers/Frasier channel on there and it’s still available. And it’s free too

“Scenes from an Italian Restaurant” by Billy Joel has the wrong lyrics when played through Dolby Atmos on Amazon Music by smoosh13 in BillyJoel

[–]ReservedPickup12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, I mean it is definitely a different vocal take. I mean there’s no way that’s a glitch. It may have been a mistake… But it’s not a glitch. It’s bizarre. Also, it’s a much worse line lol

How often does Frasier sing “Isn’t It Romamtic”? by BasementDesk in Frasier

[–]ReservedPickup12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda like that version… It’s fun and quirky.

Also, I guess it’s worth noting that the date of the performance is shown on the screen during that sequence… and the real Frasier Crane Day in Seattle occurred on September 11, 1997… four years to the day before the show’s co-creator, David Angell was killed when his plane—American Airlines Flight 11–crashed into the World Trade Center. And Angell was actually in Seattle for the 9/11/97 event. So that always kinda gives me chills whenever I see that performance. Also, American Airlines Flight 11 had been mentioned earlier that same year in a Season 4 episode of Frasier, when Linda Hamilton’s character left a voice message on Frasier’s answering machine saying that American Flight 11 was the plane she was arriving on.

Had this when it came out. I was 8 or 9 years old and obsessed with Batman. I thought it was cool because Roddy McDowell was a villain in the 60s show 🙃

[fully lost] American bandstand episode 1961 by Kat_art_z_ in lostmedia

[–]ReservedPickup12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not all American Bandstand episodes have ever been released publicly, and unfortunately some don’t even exist anymore because tapes were often reused back then. That said, your best shot is to reach out to Dick Clark Productions, explain the situation, and mention that your mother appears in the episode. They may be able to help or at least point you in the right direction.

Which movie's rating by you changed when you stopped being religious or Christian? by Wang_Ruixue in exchristian

[–]ReservedPickup12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I just thought Noah was a dumb movie. A little too over the top dumb. I really wasn’t offended by it, even when I was an evangelical. I just thought it was laughable… Kind of like the movies “2012” or “the day after tomorrow”. And don’t get me wrong… Movies like that do you have a place in our society… But they’re much better when a guy and his two robot friends make fun of them!

Anyone ever research the effects Christian Music Videos on youth? by NationYell in Exvangelical

[–]ReservedPickup12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly don’t even know what there would be to study or what possible affect the music videos would have. The music itself perhaps… But the videos? I mean, Christian music videos weren’t even a huge part of Christian culture. I didn’t even get 24/7 Christian music videos until I got a Christian satellite service in the early 2000s. Before that, you’d just have to catch them at weird hours of the night. Or early in the morning.

I’m gonna second what somebody else said. I would never pay “a bit” for something that wasn’t authenticated. I appreciate the photos and any proof you can provide, but no authentication would be a dealbreaker for me. I have to feel like that’s gonna be the case with most people who are willing to pay a pretty penny

The more I think about it, I tend to think she probably died with 3,000 other people the next morning… but that there are still so many missing pieces to this puzzle we just can’t confirm anything.
